If Vivien is in the common room later, she'll find Damien, having some tea and reading a medical text book. He is a doctor, and would be glad to help with any of her problems - any problems that he can, anyway.

Hopefully by now, she's found something a bit more comfortable than a coat over her nightie, and she's likely exploring the Mansion, when she spots the young man reading. "Hello... do you own this house?" She's likely still not sure what to make of this place or the denizens thereof.

Damien looks up and stands quickly when he sees her.

"Ah, no, that I don't. Are you well, Miss?" She didn't entirely look it.

"I'm just a little tired and shaken," she says, hiding the worst problems that are plaguing her. "I'm Vivien Harmon," she adds, offering her hand.

"Damien O'Donovan."

Damien takes her hand and shakes it firmly, but then puts his other hand on her shoulder and guides her to the chair he had just been using, kneeling in front of her. He has no idea what's wrong, but something is.

"Have you just arrived, miss? It can be jarring, so it can."

She lets him guide her and she might relax a little into his touch, relieved to have a gentle hand to assist her. "Yes, I just...woke up here, literally, a few minutes ago," she says.

He raises his hand to her forehead to check for fever.

"Do you remember what happened to you before you arrived here?"

She's a teeny bit warm, but not feverishly so. "I'd had a nervous breakdown," she admits, with a note of shame. "I'm pregnant with twins and the hormones are making me unstable. My husband had arranged to have me put in a hospital to rest. I'd closed my eyes in the back of the car...and when I opened them, I was sitting on a couch here."

Damien frowns. Trauma of any sort - physical or mental - was never good on the unborn child. And he didn't know how being brought into another world would affect the fetus.

"How far along are you?"

"I'm in my...eleventh week," she says, mentally counting the weeks. "It's been difficult: we had financial troubles, then my husband cheated on me... Are you...a doctor?" she asks.

"Aye," Damien answers, almost distracted. Eleven weeks wasn't very far along at all. She wouldn't have felt the babies moving yet. He had read in the past two weeks since had arrived about the new advances in fetal monitoring, and wondered suddenly if this place would have such things.

"Take a deep breath for me, will you? Everything has been normal since you arrived? No unusual bleeding or cramps?"

(OOC: Is there any sort of clinic in the mansion?)

"I've had some spotting and some bad cramps around Halloween, but my doctor has told me the babies are just fine," she says. Obediently, she draws in a long breath.

((OOC: Muraki has a small clinic in the basement; I'd be honored if Damien took her down there. Mind if I bring in His Paleness later on to consult?? {And given his energy vamp senses, that's going to go oddly...}?))

Damien nods, filing that information away for later.

"Very good. But nothing since you arrived here?"

He stood, running a hand through his hair.

"Ah, so I think it would be best if we were to get you down to the clinic so I can run some tests on you and the wee babies. Are you feeling well enough to stand and do a flight or two of stairs, like?"

((OOC: Sure thing! And definitely bring him in for a consult. :)))

"No, no, thank goodness: I got here an hour or so ago," she says. "I think I can manage stairs, as much as I've had a bit of a fright getting here."

"Aye, and I'll be here with you. You can lean on me if you need. We just need to make sure that those wee babes of yours are doing grand, which I'm sure they are, it's just best to check."

He waits for her to stand, a little impatient and worried, but trying not to let it show.

She rises, and she might gently put a hand on his arm. "I think I can manage, but I appreciate the offer, just to be on the safe side," she says.
