It had started out as simple nostalgia; this is going to be Dean Winchester's first winter at the Mansion, and Hisoka Kurosaki has fond memories of last year.  The question of snow seemed a rather large one, ridiculously important in a way no other aspect of weather really is, but that's probably more to do with what can be done with snow that ( Read more... )

Here's someone who'll insist on being on Dean's team. Lystra's heading for the common room when she hears the two men arguing. She appears in the doorway, staring at them and looking confused.

Dean takes a moment to notice her, absorbed as he is in one of his once-favorite pasttimes, but when he does he shifts gears from mock-severe to grinning at her pretty brightly.

"Hey, sweetheart!" he calls, then starts walking towards her. He glances for Tyan automatically. "They have snow where you come from?"

He doesn't know where that is, and since they don't have chocolate, he's not sure he wants to.

"No," Lystra says, brightening considerably at the mention of snow. She'd never seen it before she arrived at the Mansion, but now that she has, she loves it. "I'd never seen it before I came here."

Whatever Dean's going to tell her, she figures it must be something good, if it involves snow.

Ignoring Hisoka for the time being, Dean shifts his attention fully to Lystra as he strides towards her.

"Well, then, you're missing out on another of life's pleasures: Snowball wars," he declares authoritatively, nodding once, then splits the grin again. "How's that for awesome, huh?"

Lystra probably looks like she might squeal with excitement at any moment. "Snowball wars?"

Dean is fully in support of this possibility. He doesn't stop grinning, but nods instead.

"That's right. And we're recruiting - wanna join the fun side?" The hunter bounces his eyebrows, just once. "We have hot chocolate."

"What's hot chocolate?" Though, it does have 'chocolate' in its name, so whatever it is, it must be good.

Oddly enough, he was expecting that. He sighs theatrically, reaching to pat her shoulder as if in consolation.

"Sweetheart, we'll get you there. It's okay. You in?" The grin is waiting in the wings, though; he'll happily celebrate her recruitment over a mug of hot chocolate as soon as it's official.

"Of course," Lystra says, as if that should be obvious. "Dean, do you think I'd want to miss something like this?"

"How'm I supposed to know? Hisoka could've gotten to you first!" He grins, though, and tips his head by way of warning that he's about to move before he steps around her to move for the kitchen. "C'mon, I'll make you some hot chocolate to celebrate. You shouldn't miss out on that one moment longer than you already have."

Lystra looks excited and moves to follow him. "You still haven't told me what hot chocolate is."

"It's deliciousness made from love and awesome," he replies, apparently serious for a moment before he glances back and winks. "What it says on the tin, sweetheart: chocolate that's hot, and just the thing for snowy days. Or, you know. Challenging people to fight on snowy days."

You wanna continue to the kitchen or you wanna hold off? I'm good either way!

Might we wrap this one up, since they have another thread together? (And also I have too many threads >.>)
