|| Mingler : Snow Ball War Sign Up : You Been Thunderstruck ||

It had started out as simple nostalgia; this is going to be Dean Winchester's first winter at the Mansion, and Hisoka Kurosaki has fond memories of last year.  The question of snow seemed a rather large one, ridiculously important in a way no other aspect of weather really is, but that's probably more to do with what can be done with snow that ( Read more... )

Whoever gets to him first and convinces him can have a dragon? ao_ji December 4 2011, 02:00:03 UTC
Temeraire both likes and hates the snow. Likes it when it's not terribly cold and the wind isn't blowing so much or so hard and hates it the rest of the time. He can't fly nearly as well in stormy weather after all.

At the moment, Temeraire is lounging just outside the kitchens, soaking up a bit of warmth from inside and building a snow castle.

DEAN'S FIRST DRAGON, YO. surfaceshine December 4 2011, 02:07:19 UTC
Okay, so, Dean has heard there are dragons around, but the glimpse he catches out the window is the first he's actually had. And he actually might not have much luck with this particular dragon since his brother managed to piss it off, but he has no way of knowing that; instead, glancing sidelong to see if Hisoka has seen what he has seen, the hunter unabashedly bolts for the door, hellbent for the outside.

Having no clue whatsoever the best way to hail a dragon for success - no, seriously, all his information is coming from Dragonheart just now, so forgive us - doesn't seem to be fazing him; any other time and place, he'd be double checking that he was packing something powerful enough to make it think twice about eating him while he tries to figure out how to kill it. The Mansion has gotten to the hunter, though, and now he's just thinking tactically.

"Hey - that is one awesome freaking fortress," he calls by way of greeting, because when in doubt, go with what you know.

Provided Dead doesn't offend him in the same way as his brother did, they should be alright. He looks up, ruff lifting curiously, and tilts his head.

"I am making a snow castle. The shore is too cold to dig in right now. Would you like to help?"

Temeraire can be perfectly pleasant.

Okay, so that was not an encouraging typo, but Dean is oblivious. And usually more socially awkward, but at least he's practical enough not to tell anything big enough to eat him that it doesn't exist. Things not existing has not stopped them from trying to eat him before, after all. And Temeraire is speaking logically - it IS too cold to build sand castles..

"Sure," Dean says, agreeably. He realizes he should probably be more nervous, but what the hell; if he gets burned to a crisp or something, he'll just resurrect, apparently. Own it, by god. "I'm Dean."

"Hello Dean. I am Temeraire. I do not think we have met before." And it was pleasant to meet someone that wasn't frightened or upset or trying to hurt him or calling his reality into question...

It was once true that very little actually fazes Dean; and apparently nothing is insurmountable when recruiting for the Very Serious Business of winning a snow war. Dragon? Yes please.

"I think I'd remember if we had," replies Dean, smirking before he switches his attention to the construction underway. He considers it, then moves to a partially finished bit of wall and crouches to add his effort. "My brother said there were dragons hanging around here - you're the first one I've seen, though."

"There are two of us. Myself, and Iskierka. Who is your brother?" A good wall would go well right ... here. He pushes up a block of snow about as tall as Dean is.

Dean leans back out of the way, blinking in surprise as the snow suddenly appears almost in his face, but then grins.

"His name is Sam," he replies, distracted.

The snow stops moving and there is a bit black head coming to peer very closely at you now. "I know a Sam. He was very rude to me and insisted that I was not real, even as I stood in front of him. I did not like him much."

Okay, that gets Dean's attention and he should probably be acting a little fazed as he finds himself staring at two very large eyes, but he never did have a lick of common sense. A moment later he's nodding.

"Yup, sounds like my brother," he admits, wincing theatrically and not backing away at all. "Sorry about him. He's got a terminal case of the prudes. Doesn't believe in anything until it's trying to kill him. Thanks for not, by the way. I'm kinda fond of him."

Have a little bit of the charisma that works so well on other humans, Temeraire. He smiles sheepishly.

The dragon snorts, not swayed by the charm, but trusting all the same. "He claimed you were the one that was rude. I am happy to see that he had it backwards.

"I would not kill him if he was not trying to kill me or mine. I did give him a stern talking to though."

Duly noted. "Stern talking tos have never worked on that kid to my knowledge, and I've given it every shot I know how, but here's hoping he took your meaning on board."

Dean points up at the hunter-sized snowblock. "This a hobby of yours?"

"No, not really. I enjoy reading, but not many people here are willing to hold open books or read to me. I also like to write. What about you Dean? What do you enjoy doing?"

Well, Temeraire, that's a pretty complicated question for Dean to answer truthfully just now; luckily that's never been a problem for the shyster Winchester, who is now shrugging.

"Well it ain't reading. Pretty much anything but," he jokes. "Me'n a friend of mine're recruiting for a snowball war a little further along the year, here."

He can do subtle. Kind of.

"A ... snow ball war? I have fought in wars before, but I have never heard of a snow ball war."

Dean is not surprised by this.

"Not surprised - mitts that size, you'd probably have a hard time finding someone to have a fair match with." Beat. "Which is why if you'd like to give it a whirl, you're welcome on my team."
