It's been a long time coming - many hurdles have delayed the event, but it has finally happened. Posters have been put up in various places throughout the Mansion throughout the past few weeks, from the moment that the date was set.

Neville had been hanging out in the background, so he could help out as a stage hand if needed, but he'd dressed up, even wearing a tie. It wasn't often he had the excuse; the greenhouse certainly wasn't the place for it.

He'll be standing around after, smiling because he enjoyed the play so much.

Dean in a crowd is a special beast, and he happens to the unwary at random. Which is to say that probably the first Neville will be aware of him (or maybe not, obviously, as Dean has a rather large and loud mouth) is when the hunter is crashing hands-first, typist willing, into his shoulders, clapping the smaller man heartily as he grins. He's relieved to be released from the suspense of a ritual he really doesn't understand in the least but was obligated to attend.

"We're free, man," he exclaims, because a forcibly stationary Dean is a twitchy Dean and he's approximately twice as obnoxious once released to be mobile again. He doesn't know Neville was attached to it at all, but his tone is more light-heartedly conspiratorial than actually dreadful.

Actually, Neville is surprised by Dean's greeting, but it's a nice kind of surprise. He grins, and typist willing, will return the claps to the other man's shoulders. "Dean! Practically the whole Mansion turned out for this, huh?"

Some days, Dean can't stand crowds; others, he remembers what he used to be like, and thrives in them. Tonight is one of the latter, apparently, as he doesn't even flinch at the contact and remains very close to Neville's side, scanning the room in question with his grin lingering.

"Looks like - and me without my pretzel stand. Damn. We could've made a killing if you could keep the cheese sauce hot."

It takes Neville a moment to catch on, but he laughs when he does. "I'd have probably been too busy to help," he admits, looking around the crowded room. "I suspect they'll perform another play based on the success of this one." He hopes so. He'd enjoyed working behind the scenes, a change of pace from the greenhouse.

Dean looks around, too, like he can't get enough of looking at people while standing among them. That's pretty close to the truth, and he's okay with the fact that he's grinning kind of like an idiot right now.

He's really okay with it.

"Yeah, maybe the next one'll be a horror and you can make those fake prop heads or something."

Dean is probably too cheerful about this prospect. He's always had a kind of strange sense of humor.

Neville laughs. "Right, then. Make sure you put that in the suggestion box or bend Cyrano's ear," he teases lightly. He cocks an eyebrow. "Drinking before the play?"

"Just as soon as I find the damn thing," declares Dean about the suggestion box, cheerily. He's still kind of looking at the audience when Neville asks the second question out of nowhere.

He flinches, but it's swift and minor and he's playing dumb in the next moment, glancing sidelong at Neville. "Hm? What?"

"I thought you might of enjoyed a beer before the play," Neville laughs. "I might be a little jealous." Because Dean is in a really good mood, despite the crowd. He shrugs and smiles. "No censure, mate."

[ooc: Did you wanna fade this? <3]

It isn't, exactly, an accusation, but Dean is struck by both how similar it is to one - he can hear Sam's voice in a pissier tone doing just that, disgusted by his brother's lack of self control - and how unpleasant it is to realize that he's been such a tool lately that a bit of his old personality coming out makes people ask if he's been drinking. His grin is smooth and polished, though, and doesn't slip despite the sour taste on the back of his tongue.

"Oh, there's plenty of censor, but that's for another play and another time. Look me up later, we'll grab that beer. HISOKA," Dean calls, knowing full well he doesn't see the green-eyed shinigami, but he waves anyway and claps Neville on the shoulder heartily as he moves on into the crowd.

[Sounds good - on yours? Thank you both so much.]

Neville isn't sure what to think of Dean's departure, but he'll definitely be looking him up later. That's what friends do.

Fade! And thank you both!

"Hey, Neville!" says Hisoka, "Thank goodness you were on the crew!"

Neville smiles in greeting, maybe looking a bit sheepish. "I didn't do much, really," he says quickly. He gives a lot more credit to those that were actually in the production, like Hisoka. "You were brilliant though!"

"I did the best I could with no acting experience," chuckles Hisoka. "But I'm glad you enjoyed my efforts, because I did aim to have an effect. And you should take credit for your part, too, because it's clear that timing is everything, and you were right there with every scene change. What would you call what the stage crew does? It's not just toting furniture and ringing the curtain up or down. It's making a complex framework, moment by moment, to showcase somebody else's actions, isn't it? I think that takes subtlety, skill, thought and ingenuity, as well as a lot of sweat."

[Sweet, sexy Neville. XDDD I'm glad we still have our anOTP! FTB after your next post?]

"Your words are always so kind," Neville reflects with a friendly smile. "How do you always know the ideal thing to say?"

[ooc: Fade?

I'm so glad we do as well! And as soon as I get caught up on IC tags, I will definitely be tagging in on it! <3

Thanks for being so understanding in my fades!]

"I wish I always did," says Hisoka, smiling back.

[FTB, and no problem! And I'll be looking forward to your posts in the new logs! (and in a few old ones. XD]
