Hisoka waits beside the canoe, which is drawn up in a foot of water with its bow on the sand. Two paddles are in the bottom of the boat. Friends and strangers, all welcome

Here's someone who's been looking forward to a canoe trip, and on seeing Hisoka standing by the canoe, Tsuzuki lets out a squeal of delight. "Cool! You finished building your canoe? It's beautiful! Can I go for a ride, please?" he asks, puppy-like.
"Of course you can," replies Hisoka. "Hop in, and we'll shove off." This time he has the craft parked with it's rear end on the sand, and he gestures for Tsuzuki to step in and go to the front seat.
As soon as Tsuzuki has taken his seat and the boat has ceased its perilous rocking, Hisoka grabs the stern and heaves. He has a sailor's sinews, and the boat slides smoothly into the water. He hops in, grabs a paddle, and they glide forward. "Want to try your hand at paddling, Tsuzuki?" he asks. Taking his life in his hands. "...or shall I be the gondolier?" He clears his throat and sings, "O solo mio..."
"Don't let me make you do all the work," he says, reaching into the bottom of the boat and taking up one of the paddles. He'll dip into the water the first few times, but half the time, his strokes miss the water entirely.
Bad paddling borrowed from an episode of Mythbusters, where they tried to replicate the famous Alcatraz escape, and one guy kept missing the water as he was paddling the rubber raincoat dinghy1
It is lucky that Tsuzuki is in front, and thus Hisoka's face is not visible to him. The mere contemplation of Tsuzuki's, er, technique causes him to miss a few strokse himself, and so he simply lets the canoe glide while he looks. It is truely amazing to be in a boat with a man who manages to miss the water altogether, with his paddle.
This is really funny. XDDDDDD
"So, ah, how have you been, Tsuzuki?" he manages to ask.
"Oh, I've been keeping busy, helping build that scenery for the play or just, well, hanging out and enjoying the weather. It's been a bit warm for autumn, but I suppose it makes it better for canoeing," he says.
He might be leaning a bit too far to his side, trying to get a better "grip" on the water
"Yes, it does..." Hisoka starts to answer. And then his words almost turn into a squawk, as he feels the canoe tilting sharply to the right. "Lean left, Tsuzuki!"
Quickly, he does so himself. But...
Tsu probably outweighs Hisoka by fifty pounds. It's an unequal contest. XD
Of course, he leans out a bit too far and *WHOOPS*! he falls head-first into the water with a loud yelp followed by an even louder splash and a fountain of water.
The canoe bucks as Tsuzuki's weight departs from it, over the side. "Aw, hell." Wait a minute...CAN HE SWIM? "Tsuzuki??" Damn, I should have had him put a life-jacket on! WHAT WAS I THINKING??
Hisoka shoves the paddle into the water and pushes the boat into the sloshing, expanding rings of water around the spot into which Tsuzuki was pitched. He peers down into the lake, rips off his jacket, and prepares to dive in after him if necessary.
Hisoka has a crazy urge to laugh his head off, but this is far from a moment for hilarity. The canoe glides up next to Tsuzuki, and Hisoka tosses him a life jacket as a life preserver. "Here, grab onto this and hang on, while I figure out a way to get you back into the boat!"
"Not that far," says Hisoka, keeping his face straight by sheer force of will. In a minute, it is not that hard. The big violet puppy eyes are having their old effect on him, of course.
He brings the boat almost to a halt by backing with the paddle. "Okay, keep hanging onto the jacket, and I'm gonna reach out with my hand. I'm going to grab you by the shoulder of your coat and ease you towards the boat. As soon as you get near enough, you grab onto the side, okay?"
He edges the boat as close as he can get and reaches out.
Hisoka, still gripping Tsuzuki's coat, takes a good look at the situation and decides to go for broke. "Okay, we're gonna get you back into the boat, but we've gotta do this quick. You sling your arm and leg over the side, and I'm gonna heave you in. Ready?...one, two, three..."

The moment the boat comes close, he grabs onto the side of the boat, careful not to tip it over...
