[Open Post] A cup of hot cocoa.

Jun 30, 2011 14:48

Spike hasn't been out in some time, he's been keeping mostly to his room trying to sleep and heal up like a mortal. It's working but slowly. Unfortunately since his last experience in the woods he hasn't been much for 'hunting', if you could call it that anyway. He's currently in the kitchen with a bit of milk on the stove for cocoa. A pot of hot ( Read more... )

Tsuzuki is likely looking for a snack about now: a long day of working in the sun, scraping the ground for a patio on one of the terraces in the back garden has left him hungry, and the smell of hot cocoa is enough to bring him to the kitchen.

"Hey there, is someone making cocoa??" he calls out, peeking around the door.

"Yeah. Fancy some?" By now he's fiddling with the things on the table, intently pulling at the strings on a bloody washcloth.

"Sure thing," he says, coming into the kitchen, then noticing the bloodied washcloth. "Whoa, you okay there, fella? You didn't get bit by those wolves out there, did you?"

Spike's eyebrow raises at the word 'fella' but he ignores it for now. "Yeah, and a right good job they did bloodying me up. They get around to you?"

"Almost, but that doesn't count: I was helping the Elf-Lord and his sons take out the damn things. Wolves don't stand a chance against energy blasts," he says, chuckling. "You need some help patching up there?"

The longer he's here the more out of his element he feels, nonetheless he doesn't let it show. "Naw, gettin' to it. Just takin' my time, but thanks."

"Gotcha: gotta patch up when you're good and ready," he says, going to the fridge and rummaging in it. "You want some cake to go with that cocoa? I think I saw some red velvet in here earlier."

He considers refusing for a moment but rethinks it with a nod. "What the hell, sure."

He grins. "Stuff tastes better when it's shared," he says, taking the cakeplate from the fridge and setting it on the table before hunting for a couple of plates.

He doesn't know quite what to say to that so he nods and goes back to his bandages and water muttering an uncertain "S'pose so."

"So, how did it happen? I hope you didn't get messed up with those wolves outside," he asks, rummaging for a cake server.

"'s exactly how it happened, actually. Problem with beasties is most of 'em got a decent set of sharp teeth."

"Oh yeah, that's true, though I took out more than a few of them, when I was helping the Elf Lord and his sons fight the damn things," he says.

"There's an elf lord?" He's not so much confused as he is entertained by this notion, he's not unfamiliar with these things in the least but the concept of it here for some reason throws him every time.

"Oh, there's a whole family of Elves," he says. "They kind of come and go, and they kind of keep to themselves, but some of them are quite friendly. I'm good friends with Galadriel, who keeps the big greenhouse in the garden. She lets me keep some of my bamboo plants there."

There's a moment where he attempts to soak this in, only about half of it makes it though. "--You grow bamboo?"
