The thing about being Jaenelle is that she knows right away when one of hers is gone. And one of hers is gone, and one of hers that she misses already. She can understand, though - this is not her Papa's place. But she misses him just the same

... well, this sucks, Elured and Elurin will have you know.

And so there will be a pair of elven teens sitting by Kalush and Aaron, hovering a little like the young protectors Aaron has been training them to be, trying to... well.. be there.

And worrying.

Aaron is sticking close to the twins, and a little glowery. But he does look at them, and smile just a bit, in very slight visible pride. Which means more, internally.

"You're doing well," he says, his voice low and very nearly inaudible. They are all being fairly quiet. "Don't worry. This will pass."

But he doesn't like it, still.

"Everyone looks so upset," Elurin says quietly.

Elured adds, "I'm worried about Arianna."

"She - wasn't so close to Saetan," Aaron says, quietly. "She'll be all right. And so will we. It just...we all feel it, when Jaenelle is suffering." He grimaces. "I wouldn't talk to Lucivar just now. It's worst for him."

"Then we won't," the twins reply in perfect echo. Both look at Kalush worriedly -- "Is there anything --"

Kalush looks unbearably proud of them both. "Just...being here is important. We all gather close around our Queen in time of crisis. That the two of you are here...it makes you part of the Court."

The twins blush, smile wide because seeing Kalush proud makes them very very happy. "-- thank you, Amil," Elurin says as soberly as he can (though he's beaming).

"-- should we go pay our respects?" Elured asks seriously.

Kalush glances over, weighing the group close around Jaenelle, and says, "In a moment, I think...not just now. Everyone's...tense. And probably snappish."

She gives them a smile back. She has her own family; she is sorry, but Uncle Saetan is not to her what he is to some others.

"Of course," Elured replies stoutly. "We'll go when you tell us, not before."

Elurin nods. "We met him once, didn't we?"

"We did," Elured replies.

The boys are then suspiciously silent.

Kalush's mouth turns downward a little. "...did something happen?"

Oh dear.

The twins seem to consult each other silently, before Elured speaks up.

"--- it wasn't a really big deal..."

"But something did happen," she persists, eyebrows drawing down even more in worry.

The twins look suitably embarassed. "--- well he -- might have -- lectured us a little."

Er.

Aaron tenses slightly, and leans forward. "And? What happened?"

"... well, he wasn't very happy with us having a... hm..." Elurin looks embarassed, and continues his brother's sentence, barely audibly, "food fight."

Aaron can't help but snort, after a moment. "...he wouldn't be. Had plenty of those at the Keep, before Ms. Beale taught us better."

"...that's not all, is it?"
