When he came back so suddenly, it took Adrian a while to adjust; he isn't there, yet. Truth be told, he feels quite lonely. There's no one in the room to keep him company - he doesn't even remember that Natalie used to live with him, that they used to be happy and make love and have fun here, in that very room. A feeling, he does get. A gut feeling

Not a potential donor - because Delilah would take this for cannibalism and would then decide that you are a weetigo, Adrian. And that would be sad.

But he can certainly talk to her - she's drawn to the library by the music, which she's vaguely familiar with.

She knows this one. It's been a long time, though - she almost forgot that he existed.

Will be sending buddies along eventually, I'm just slow to tag new posts due to my thesiatus.

If he remembered anything, Adrian would probably be thrilled to see her. Sadly, he doesn't. He does turn his head though, and his fingers float to press the PAUSE button.

"Hello." Friendly, smiling. "Is the music too loud?"

"... No," Delilah replies, and she's still speaking a bit slowly, as if processing what she's seeing.

"-- Where have you been?"

Sorry if this feels like deja vu. Hm.

"Not this again," he mutters. "Look, I know that this is probably going to sound rude, but I wasn't exactly informed on everything. Did we -- er, how should I put this? Were we involved in any way?"

After the Natalie moment, he needs to be sure and cautious.

Delilah stares at Adrian, as if he were mad. "--- of course not, that's --- why would you even suggest such a thing?"

She frowns at him, and comes closer. "--- are you alright, Adrian?"

Or are you insane?

Phewww. You have no idea how relieved he feels, Delilah.

"God gracious, that's good then. Forgive me. It's just that, well, this might sound a bit not-alright, you know. Apparently I vanished for a while; from here. And then I met a friend, I guess, and he told me about this girl I was involved with and --." His voice breaks.

"I think I hurt her."

Delilah has no idea who you're talking about, but hurting other girls is not something she's going to feel sympathy for.

That's probably why her features are hardening.

"How?"

Adrian feels odd about blurting all this to basically a stranger, but --. Eh.

"Her name is Natalie." He swallows. "You see, I -- apparently I was gone for a while. And many people I was friends with had to bear with my disappearance. And then, there was this girl. Natalie." Her name now hurts his tongue, honestly. "She and I, I think we had -- something. Another friend told me about her. And she... she came on the porch once. And we had a talk."

At this point his voice breaks.

.... Delilah is officially unloaded on, and staring.

All that she manages to reply is ... "And?"

"-- and we had a talk. I tried to explain to her that, you see, I was gone against my will. There was nothing I could do to prevent it, and I didn't ask for it. It just HAPPENED."

He's really frustrated, but he's trying to keep his voice low and his temper in check. Delilah doesn't deserve his nerves, he feels that.

Delilah blinks. ".... you were taken from here? But how?"

That's just so... and her heart leaps.

"... Did you meet a harp player, while you were gone?"

So maybe that's what happened to the other missing people.

Her missing friends.

"I have no idea," he says darkly. "And I'm sorry, but no. I think I was home, in America, though even recollections from that time are blur."

He shuffles his feet. "Did this happen to other people before, then?"

"I don't know," Delilah replies. "I know that some people disappeared - friends of mine, friends of my --" she pauses, blushes, "friends of Dearon's. But I don't know if it was the same as with you."

"So I wasn't the only one," Adrian says thoughtfully. "I know it isn't very helpful for you, or for your friends, but it might make me feel less special - in a very wrong way."

Delilah nods. "-- they never came back, though." A beat. "--- no, Maglor said he was told he'd been here before, I think."

She shakes her head, looks thoughtful, as if trying to recall a conversation. "-- I'm sorry, it's been a while, I don't remember if he said it or not."

"It's a bit complicated, isn't it?" Adrian asks lightly, trying to hide the torment in his heart. "The thing is -- I was here, then gone, then here I am again. Confusing, but at least I'm alive."
