It took Cyrano a few weeks to finish up his play, to make up his mind on the casting. The results of the readings are finally posted one morning on the Mansion's billboard, in his clean, cold, intellectual yet flamboyant penmanship.

Neville wanders over to read the notice, an apple in his hand. He's somehow managed to miss news of this before, not that he would have tried out for a role. He's pleasantly surprised that someone is putting this together here, and idly muses his Gran would enjoy a good play.

He wonders if there's anything he could do to help behind the scenes. Perhaps special props or special effects? He'd scratch his head, but he takes a bite of his apple instead.

Anyone that wants to talk to Neville, feel free to tag.

"Hello," says Hisoka, to the young man who is eating an apple. "Are you going to be in this production, too?"

Neville swallows quickly at the voice, wiping his mouth on the back of his shirt sleeve before answering. "Hi," he replies, smiling with a shake of his head. "This is the first I've heard of it," he admits. "Are you involved?"

"I'm going to play Terentius. I've never acted onstage before, though, so I guess it'll be a challenge." He smiles back. "I'm Hisoka Kurosaki, by the way."

"Oh, that's brilliant," Neville grins, offering his hand to shake in greeting. "I'm Neville Longbottom. It's nice to meet you, Hisoka."

Hisoka shakes hands with him. "Pleased to meet you, Neville! Have you been at the Mansion long?"

"Several months," Neville answers. "Yourself?"

"Three months, I think," replies Hisoka. "It's a little confusing, this shifting from one world to another! I'm starting to feel at home, though. How has it been for you?"

"I went through an adjustment period," Neville admits. "Kept to myself, but now...I like it here. I've made friends." His smile is friendly, like he's always willing to make more.

Hisoka smiles, too. "I'm glad. Were you a loner in your own world? I was."

"Sometimes. I had plenty of friends, but --," he trails off, not sure how to put it into words. It's not something he really liked to think about. "I wasn't anyone's best mate - their first choice, I guess," he finally finishes with a slight shrug. He's blushing as that was far too personal. "Lots of friends, but still alone often. I've no idea why I just said that." He'd like to think it was different here.

"Maybe we don't forget the way it was, even after it becomes different?" suggests Hisoka. "And maybe you said it because the person you're talking to won't think less of you because of what you say?"

Neville ponders that, and actually leans toward giving his group of friends back in England the benefit of the doubt. But deep down, he knows it's not the case. Even when they were all in Auror training, everyone had their own friends, and inviting Neville along (if they did) was more of an afterthought. And then as working Aurors, he was often given solo tasks, but then, he was good at them, working alone.

He wasn't bitter about it, so much as aware of it, in a way that was a dull hurt that probably went back as far as his first year at Hogwarts.

He smiles at the other bloke. "I suppose it is easier to confide in strangers, isn't it?" he smiles. "And now you know my deep dark secret," he chuckles. It's hardly his deepest and darkest, but he's the type that can laugh at himself.

Hisoka smiles back. "If that's your worst secret, you're doing better than most of us," he says.

Neville laughs. "Well, yes, I might have exaggerated," he grins.

"A habit we're all prone to, if you ask me!" admits Hisoka.
