It took Cyrano a few weeks to finish up his play, to make up his mind on the casting. The results of the readings are finally posted one morning on the Mansion's billboard, in his clean, cold, intellectual yet flamboyant penmanship.

Cyrano has indeed spent all night writing. His hands are stained with ink, there's a bit of wine on the side of his collar, and his boots are kicked off.

He's resting with his thrice-plumed hat on his face, to shield him from the light, but is thankfully not snoring.

As indicated up there, he'll be sleeping only for the first commenter, resting (or pretending to) for the others.

He might hear a small, delighted "Ahh!" nearby, and if he looks up, he'll find Titus standing there, looking at the cast list and smiling, pleased.

Titus was sure that he hadn't made the cut at all. But circumstances have surprised him yet again.

Cyrano is a light sleeper - remnants from the siege, and almost startles out of his uneasy rest.

"--- Monsieur Groan."

"Master de Bergerac, I hope that I did not disturb you," he says, bowing and giving one of his rare smiles. "I was not expecting to be selected for a named role, much less Sejanus. I thought that I had scuttled all possibilities."

Cyrano sighs, then shakes himself out of his half-killed sleep. "I like to give young actors appropriate challenges," he informs Titus. "As long as you do not sound like an overly verbose bovine on stage, your performance should do."

Yes, he's a touch on the difficult side.

He frowns a bit, then he snerks a bit at this jab. "I assure you, I shall do my best to make a living man from your poetry," he says.

"Your willingness was never in question, Monsieur Groan." And having finished the play, he hands a copy over to Titus. "Here. You will have much work to do."

That's not saying, there will be revisions. Cyrano will drive his actors insane, very likely.

Titus accepts the script, taking it with a contained eagerness. "Thank you, Master de Bergerac. I have been anticipating this text," he says. "I shan't take more of your time." And with that, he bows and steps away.

"On the dot," Cyrano calls, a reminded that practice is going to start early indeed.

"I shall be prompt at attending every rehearsal," he promises. And this could turn into a deja vu moment for Titus. Minus being yelled at by a crazy old man in tatty red silk robes.

When Cyrano is resting again, there will be a small blond boy poking him - literally. With his finger in Cyrano's arm.

Poke. Poke. Poke.

"That's rather rude," the Frenchman groans, then forces himself to sit up. "What is it, boy?"

Cyrano was just trying to fall back asleep, after being interrupted by Titus. Arumph.

"Sorry, sir... I wanted to wake you up," Hunny says apologetically.

Cyrano stretches, puts his hat back on straight. "Leave it, it's nothing, mon garcon. Just a bit of fatigue. Was it about the play?"

Hunny nods. "Can I help?"

"Why, I don't see why not," Cyrano replies as he rolls his shoulders. "Did you have a proposition, Monsieur....?"
