Nonetheless, no-one is family-oriented like a Feanorian, and Pandora herself could not keep it to herself any longer. This, in her case, was made more raw by the fact that the ( Read more... )

Finrod has always been fond of walking in the evenings so that he can look at the stars, and perhaps on one of these evening strolls he crosses paths with Lydia. He'll be glad to see her.

And Pandora is always happy to see Finrod - and the way they are meeting is certainly reminiscent of their first encounter, which makes her smile a little more tenderly about her friendship with the revered elf.

"Finrod," she says, when she sees him. "I have longed to see you in some time."

"I apologize, then, for my elusiveness." He smiles and steps toward her, he's always glad to see her as well. "Good evening, Lydia."

The vampire glides towards her friend (her oldest friend, let's not forget), and smiles, but doesn't offer bodily contact.

"It's so good to see you again," Lydia says, happily but quietly. "And I have news - though I wonder if Celebrimbor has shared them with you already."

"I have not spoken to him recently," Finrod says, "so no, he has not yet. From your smile though, I'd guess that it is good news." He's glad to see his friend happy and glad to hear of good things happening in Celebrimbor's life.

"Excellent news, Finrod," she reaches, offers him her hands on which a new ring now outshines the older one. "Old friend, I will be your cousin," Pandora declares, heart light and full of joy.

He takes her hands, surveying the new ring on her hand with a briefly surprised expression, then he reaches to draw her into a welcoming embrace. "Congratulations, cousin."

Pandora is hugged, and a touch surprised, but she accepts it - after Nerdanel and Curufin, this is a welcome change.

"-- I could not dream of a greater honor than to be your relative, Finrod."

Well, she's an old friend, and she's been so good for Celebrimbor. He couldn't be anything but happy for them. "It will be an honor to have you in our family."

"It's so wonderful to hear it," she replies, smiling so very fondly. Pandora's tone turns a touch wry. "As you imagine, not everyone took the news as happily as you did."

"I'm sure. I hope that you and Celebrimbor are weathering that storm well." He looks a little concerned, and wishes that there was something he could do to help but the people who are less than pleased wouldn't listen to him anyway.

"Thankfully, his grandmother is giving us her blessing. I expect her -- support -- will be priceless in the weeks to come," Pandora explains. She's still surprised by how enthusiastic Nerdanel was, despite the reservations she could feel in her -- grandmother-in-law (?)'s mind.

"I am certain that it will be, and I am glad that you have it." She has his support too, but that would probably only make things worse with anyone who would have a problem with it. He wishes he could be of more help.

Lydia gives Finrod a smile, so very fond. "You are always such a good friend," she tells him. "And we both have you to thank for our happiness."

"I think the two of you had something to do with that as well," he says with a slightly teasing grin. He's so glad for them both.

"Of course, but nonetheless." Lydia pauses, examines Finrod. "You know, had you not asked me to watch over him..."

She would never have dared.
