A bouncy introduction

It's sometime on New Year's Eve and a small blond boy comes dashing through the doorway to the main room of the Mansion. He has a pink toy rabbit in his arms and he looks very excited - so excited that he doesn't at first notice that he's in a different room to the one that he expected

Enide is curled up in a corner of the main room, sewing something. She likes children! A lot.

"Hello, child," she says, when she sees him.

[hanihunny]

He giggles. "Hello. Who are you?"

[fairdamsel]

"I am Queen Enide of Farther Wales," she says with a smile, "What is your name?"

[hanihunny]

"My name is Haninozuka Mitsukuni but most people call me Hunny! Ooh, I've met a few princesses but not a queen!" He says brightly then ponders aloud: "Or do drag queens count?"

"Pleasure to meet you, Hunny," she replies, "What is a drag queen? I've never heard of those before."

[hanihunny]

"You know - men who dress up like women! The ones who like it, I mean, not just for theatrical purposes!"

[fairdamsel]

"I -- I have never known any man to do that," she says, confused, "What an odd thing. Is that common where you are from?"

[hanihunny]

"Well, I know a few," he muses, thinking about it. "A friend's father is one. He's really nice!"

[fairdamsel]

"Well," she replies. It isn't the strangest thing someone here has told her, really. "Have you friends or kin here, or are you all alone?"

She hopes he isn't. He looks so young.

[hanihunny]

He saddens. ".... I haven't seen anyone I know here."

[fairdamsel]

Oh no, she doesn't want him to be sad ;_;

She sets aside her sewing. "People come and go. Perhaps they are yet to arrive, or perhaps you will return home soon. And do not fear, for there are many of us here who would gladly show you kindness and look after you."

[hanihunny]

"I wish Takashi were here," he sniffles. "But I guess I do have to learn to live without him always around some day."

[fairdamsel]

"Is he your brother?" she asks, "Please, have hope. Perhaps you will see him again soon."

[hanihunny]

"He's my cousin and my best friend," he rubs his eyes and nods to her words. "I hope so."

He looks a little lost.

[fairdamsel]

"I have left behind many of those I love, too," she says, with a sad smile, "As have many others. We will do our best to keep you company."

[hanihunny]

"Thank you...?" He sounds hesitant. "But I should be the one entertaining you... Tama-chan would be proud of me if I did that by myself!"
