And because he should get out more too... misborncat September 16 2010, 06:11:36 UTC
Also in the woods, checking snares and falls is a tall and friendly cat-man. Asato hasn't been terribly busy as of late, but the hunting is still good and he's got a pair of hares slung over his shoulder.

He's more than willing to share his game with others, though he does want to bring some home to his housemates at least.

He's absolutely welcome ^^ homely_sonja September 16 2010, 06:25:47 UTC
Brienne hasn't noticed the cat part of the man yet - she's just observing him at a distance, sitting on a rock and being very still.

She has no chance of being unseen - but if she doesn't move, she can be unheard.

She's still worried that someone might compromise the Quest by killing her, or something.

She might be quiet, but Asato has other strong senses in his arsenal. Still, since he's not being approached, he won't bother her and will just crouch to reset a snare that was tripped but empty. One ear is cocked in her direction.

She's staring. And after the dragon (wtf) this. ...this whatever this ... creature is.

Could this be one of the fabled forest-dwellers? She holds her breath, just in case.

You are just as strange to him now, though it's more because he's still getting used to humans and because she's a stranger in general than anything. He straightens up and makes sure the snare is ready before walking on. He's headed in her direction, but he's taking care to stay visible in case she wants to flee.

When he comes in her direction she stands abruptly, ready to defend herself (though she's not unsheathing her sword yet.)

She's used to being taunted, insulted etc. Brienne is probably the most insecure of all this typist's head dwellers.

Asato is not a very good judge of what makes a human attractive. As far as he is aware, she looks just like every other human he's seen. Same ears, same basic body build (two arms, two legs, no tail). He likes the spots though. That's familiar-ish to him.

He'll offer a smile (no teeth) and a bit of a bow. "Hello." He's trying to be friendly when she's obviously stressed.

She still looks defensive, though - because wait, does this -- being -- have a tail?

-- "Good day," she offers - not quit timidly. "-- I am only passing."

Yes he does and it's moving slowly behind him as he watches her curiously. "You're welcome here. At least, to me you are." He smiles again, his ears flicking forward towards her. "Are you new? My name is Asato."

She still isn't sure what to make of this, or of the -- being -- talking to her.

"Brienne," she says, leaving Tarth out purposely. "-- where are we?"

At least she's not bolting (or worse, attacking.)

"The forest. It doesn't have a name that I know, but it is very large and many call it home." He's trying his best to be friendly and slightly formal like Konoe taught him. "I'm happy to meet you Brieene." There's a slight roll to his 'r' sounds.

"Are you alright?" Asato cocks his head. "Are you hungry or hurt anywhere?" People came here and were sometimes one or the other. Or both.

She unconsciously rubs her neck - there's still a dark bruise around it. "I -- am unscathed," she finally says.

Even if she's bruised and bloody all over, really, though Will probably helped with that already.

"Are you hungry?" He holds up the hares. "The place I'm staying isn't far and I can cook these up easily if you'd like to share."

Brienne isn't trusting enough to accept such an invitation, even if Asato has, we know, the best of intentions.

"-- My thanks," she replies warily. "I am not hungry."

And then her stomach rumbles audibly.

Those ears flick forward again and he frowns, worried. "I can take them to the big house and cook them there if you'd prefer." He'd rather her comfortable and fed than uncomfortable and tense and hungry.

She hesitates. "-- I have a flint," she finally says, somewhat lamely.

He looks nice, but people aren't genuinely nice to her generally...
