Phoenix sighs and flops on the couch in his apartment. It's been at least a month since Maya left and became Master of Kurain Village. He misses her a bit.
Maybe once this trial is over, I can visit her, and see how she and Pearl are doing... yes, that would be nice.
He lies there for a while in his shirt and boxer shorts, scouring over the information, trying to figure out some way to make this work. Mia would... she's really gone now, and he can't disappoint her. Her torch is his now to carry.
He never tells this to anyone, but he feels... nervous, vulnerable every night before a trial. After these years Phoenix still feels like a rookie who was merely lucky... maybe it's a sign that he hasn't gotten jaded with his job, which he still loves so much. He yawns. Maybe I'll take a nap...
His eyes close, not knowing that this is his last night as a Defense Attorney in his world.
His eyes open again, although what he sees isn't his sparsely decorated apartment, it's a main room that looks like Edgeworth's office. And this couch isn't his. He quickly sits up still in a button down shirt and blue boxer shorts, shocked as anything.
He tries to calm down, tries to be rational...
