Paul is sitting on a couch in the common room, with several books on his lap.

He's getting a bit confused by his reading and certainly won't mind being poked.

I thought that perhaps we could wrap-up the old thread in a couple of tags - maybe leaving them both guessing - and go on with the conversation here. If I thought wrong, do tell me >.>

Oh yes. This man. He who seemed to know and understand what Adrian was talking about from the very beginning.

Adrian approaches him carefully, trying to feign carelessness. "'scuse me," he begins, "may I bother you?"

Paul looks up from his book and smiles politely. "Of course," he replies, and squints at Adrian a moment... "Mr. Ivashkov, if my memory is correct."

That's perfectly fine by me. &hearts Sorry, I never got the notif for this, wth.

And I thought I might punt Helen at Adrian in his tag below, if you wanted? And perhaps Berger can say hi to Victoria? Up to you. ^^ I already sent Robin at Fav, he didn't want to wait. >.>

"Exactly." He hesitates - how should he start? It's a wonder that he's so curious anyway; but -- "I thought that perhaps we could talk for a couple of minutes. That, if you remember our first encounter."

No problem, I have been away again b/c of the whole history of the bf moving in >.> I am trying to finally come back for good, you know <3

Berger is more than welcome, and Helen meeting Adrian would be lovely. I saw Robin's tag, Favrielle will promptly answer!

Nerdanel is examining the bulletin board with a bit of a smile that only widens when she sees that Armand is teaching Sindarin. She won't offer to teach Quenya herself, and wonders what her husband would think if she suggested it.

She wanders a bit away after a few moments, seeming a touch thoughtful. Though she may just be picturing Feanor's face is she suggested him teaching Atan their language. She wouldn't either, but the face is...interesting.

This is probably the face he'd be making. But the face he's making right now is much more relaxed.

Feanor is wandering in from the forge and is in fact quite pleased with the way things are coming along. Presumably, at least one of his sons has been retrieved, somehow, and well. That's one less worry to have.

And so he'll come and slip his arms around her waist and bury his face in her hair without warning.

Eep! And then oh, and she loves it so much when he does that. She chuckles a little and leans her head back, relaxed against him.

"Hello, my love," she murmurs, and he smells like metal and fires and the Feanor she knows and loves so well, even when he's infuriating. "You had a fine day, I take it?"

"Hmmmmm, I suppose I did," he replies against the back of her neck. "Nothing much to tell - but the work is coming along nicely."

He cradles her a little, tenderly. "And what is my lovely wife doing out here, hmmm?" His face is still pressed to her skin.

Jaenelle is happy to mingle. Always happy to mingle, and even happier to sit in the common room and let people come to her. There's a book propped open on her lap, but the fact that she hasn't turned a page in ten minutes is probably a clue that she isn't exactly invested.

And the fact that she's not even pretending not to be looking around for people she knows and wants to say hello to.

Niko wanders in and smiles faintly when he sees his girlfriend reading. She's so pretty - she's always pretty. Niko has a pretty girlfriend. Niko is also very much in love with his girlfriend. Being in love clearly affects his stream of consciousness.

And here he is, sitting on the armrest and looking over her shoulder. "Am I bothering you?"

Stream of consciousness is the least important thing ever, and Jaenelle lights up like a freaking Christmas tree when she sees Niko, beaming up at him with pure delight.

She vanishes the book. "Interrupting me? Not even a little. I was hoping you might turn up."

He chuckles, and reaches to put a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Are you sure? You vanished that book so fast, I'd have thought you had something to hide..."

He's teasing her, of course. Hmmm... Jaenelles are good things.

We are sincerely sorry, ahead of time. It will almost inevitably be necessary.

Locke is looking down the list, mouth twitching, but he manages not to laugh audibly until he gets to a certain one, when he sounds a bit like choking. "Fashion skills," he says, certainly audibly; rather loudly, in fact. "You're kidding me. Right?"

Locke never judges anyone. Riiight.

Angelique was just wandering in - the pretty young lady is in fact right next to Lock and just finished the line where her best friend's name is listed.

"--- I beg your pardon?"

She's not happy with what she's hearing.

He glances at Angelique, taking her in, and can't keep his mouth from twitching again. She looks so...helpless. And harmless. And like the kind of person Locke would con not for the money but just because it would be fun.

He indicates the board. "Fashion classes. If you need a class for that, I'd think you're out of luck." A pause, and he adds, with just a bit of a grin, "And besides, it's the stupidest fucking idea I've heard in a while, and that's saying something."

Again, she blinks at him. "... please, Monsieur, your language. It's very offensive."

And she does, indeed, look quite offended.

Steerpike can be found staring at the list and making notes of a few interesting facts... most of them pertaining to his mentor.

He's quite amused by what he's reading. Vampire Lore. That's an interesting way of putting it.

It's getting on toward what would be the start of the school year in Gormenghast, and though Titus has been following his own rudimentary self-paced studies -- read: browsing the library and reading what books catch his attention -- out of habit, he's thinking it's only proper that he should apply himself to something more serious (though his definition of applying himself likely is more fluid than most people's ( ... )

He's in fact the same age as Titus. Intriguing, isn't it?

Steerpike stares back at him, eyes a touch wide.

"-- I beg your pardon?"

For once, his surprise is utterly unfeigned.

The fact that this version of his worst enemy and personal bete noir looks to be about his own age gets past Titus for the moment. The memories of the days and weeks leading up to his departure from Gormenghast are too fresh in hia mind: Flay's murder, the storms that brought on the floods, Steerpike's attack during the Carvers' Ceremony, the theft of his boat, Fuschia's death -- did she jump, fall, or did this monster push her? The last time Titus laid eyes on him was when the Countess and her flotilla had Steerpike cornered in a flooded room, when Titus had dove into the ivy where the rat had hidden, and stabbed him to death. He clenches the stone in his pocket hard enough that his knuckles start to ache. "How did you get here? The last time I laid eyes on your face, you were drenched in your own blood and dead, a fitting end to a kitchen rat."
