At one point (or another) perhaps No-Longer-Blind Mag will come across someone who knows her, knows enough of her and of her story, if not intimately.

Someone who had guessed that blood would sear her stage.

Someone whose memories of her death are much fresher than Shilo's.

GraveRobber will just -- raise his quite difficult-to-surprise eyebrows. And then he will pale.

"Fuck," he says, probably loudly enough to catch Mag's attention.

You don't see the walking dead every day.

And if you want any other of mine, just let me know - as you know, I'll be slow, but I don't mind punting one or two more of your choice. &hearts

She can't help smiling at his ...astute observation. "My mind put it in words colored with a different palette, but I'm just as surprised to find myself here," she says, with a hint of gentle amusement. She's always found GraveRobber amusing, even though she knows more about him through hearsay than from personal contact. "What is this place? I have a feeling you've scouted out as much as you can about it."

I don't think Sugar has met any of my peeps, so perhaps I could have a taste of her...? :: laughs::

GraveRobber catches himself fast enough - even if he's still infinitely weirded out.

"A very aptly called strangeness called the Mansion," he replies, and gives Mag a crazy bow. "Does Shilo know you're here?"

Of course he doesn't care. Of course. He's just asking idly. It's happenstance that Shilo's welfare is the first thing that popped in GraveRobber's mind. Pure happenstance.

"Yes, she was the first face I saw when I found myself here," she says, smiling sadly. "She didn't need to see me in that state, after she saw my death, the way I died...

"You care about that little girl." she notes, her smile becoming almost impish.

Look how innocent he looks! And how very very detached his face is.

"She's just this kid I know," he replies, and shrugs. "I asked out of curiosity."

(He's just that kind of guy.)

Her smile grows almost teasing. "Curious for it's own sake, or curious because she's like a little sister?" she asks, playfully. "She is a dear child and only the stoniest heart would refuse to help her when she needed it."

GraveRobber is the poster boy for nonchalant disinterest. He shrugs. "Neither. But it was fun to help her out while it lasted."

Lies lies lies.

She hides a smile behind a delicate white hand. "And it's lasted across two worlds, both ours and this one," she says, still with graceful, affectionate mischief. "If that's not a kind of love, even a brotherly one, what else could it be?"

"Serendipity," he replies, and shrugs. "She helped me out when I showed up. What's in it for you, anyway?"

"Nothing tangible, yet from what I've heard, you're not the sort to help another unless there's something in it for you. But gossip tells nine lies and a half-truth out of ten," she says, that impish smile growing warm. "Thank you."

GraveRobber shrugs, as if it really didn't matter. "Hey, like I said. It was a business deal."

He'll stick to that forever. Yes, even when he ends up kissing Shilo tenderly.

"A business deal from which some corner of your heart profits as well?" she asks, mischievous, her peculiar blue eyes sparkling. "I would say you've gotten benefits you didn't expect. But I'm serious," she says, her eyes growing serious yet retaining their pleased look. "I appreciate your looking out for her. She's ready to spread her wings and fly, but she still needs a companion or two at her side till she's mastered the sky."

"She's a big girl," he replies, "she'll be fine." GraveRobber shrugs - he's taking Mag's words for what they are, but there will be no AdmissionsTM for now.

There might never be any either, even if she's hit the nail on the spot.

"She will, thanks to you," she says, smiling. "She's like a child taking her first steps, she needs a steadying hand at first, but she's growing confident." She knows he won't admit to it, not even to himself, but she somehow knows, with an almost motherly intuition, that Shilo matters more to him than he'll let on. "How long have either of you been here?"

Augh, responsibility - you're scaring him, Mag. "I just got here," he replies. "You'll have to ask Shilo for her bit."

Aloof, aloof, aloof.

"I shouldn't pry and I won't," she says, her smile becoming gentle, thoughtful. "But I still appreciate your concern for her." She starts to move on, unless he says something to give her reason to pause.
