In the common room, one might notice a brand new sign. Not too far from it, two students. A tall and lanky young man (though he's almost in his 30s), with brown hair and gray eyes, and a small dark-haired young lady are sitting by a desk and chatting a touch feverishly.

Here's someone who missed out on a college education due to a lengthy illness and, well, dying fairly young. He's had some education since then, as part of his on-the-job training in the Ministry of Hades, but never really had the chance to get a real college education. Thus he's eying the sign quizzically and wondering who dreamt this up.

Zillah smiles at him, looking over. "Hey, want to sign up for classes?"

Again, feel free to go on and assume Paul's gone to get drinks for Zillah and himself, he'll arrive with those (and a surprise) on Monday.

Tsuzuki grins, delighted both to meet a new pretty girl and for the invitation. "Sure thing! I never did get to go to college, so as long as I'm living here and you're offering classes, I'd love to."

"Cool! Glad to find people who love learning," she replies, grinning back.

"So, what courses are you planning to give, or is that still a bit up in the air?" he asks, curious and tempted to ask if she'll be teaching any.

"I'd like to teach political science, actually. I'm really into that stuff."

"Ahhh, that's something I never really studied, but I taught high school social science once, when I was working a case," he says, leaning the palms of his hands on the edge of the table.

"That's good! Perhaps you could teach here as well!"

"Well, it was only high school history and I was covering life in the Meiji period in Japan. Not sure if that's what you'd be interested in, but I'd be pretty good teaching it," he says. Then casually, he adds, "I lived and died toward the end of it, after all."

If Hisoka were here, he'd be throwing a notebook at him for talking too much.

She smiles softly. "That's good," she says. "And I'm sorry you--died."

Paul wanders back in from getting coffee and donuts, and blinks a few times - he just heard the tail end of the conversation.

"-- I suppose I should present my sympathies too," he ventures.

This is weird.

"Ah, no need to worry about me, I'm in a much better place now, really," he says. "I've even got a good job helping the souls of the departed cross over into the afterlife." He says all this with a cheerful matter-of-factness and a definite pride in the work he does.

"--Really?" she asks in disbelief.

Blink blink, again, and Paul swallows. "-- alright, then." Hm.

"Coffee and donuts, anyone?"

Tsuzuki's ears prick up, delighted. "Anyone mention donuts? I'm told I got the craziest sweet tooth ever," he says, laughing.
