In the common room, one might notice a brand new sign. Not too far from it, two students. A tall and lanky young man (though he's almost in his 30s), with brown hair and gray eyes, and a small dark-haired young lady are sitting by a desk and chatting a touch feverishly.

Alphonse is always interested in learning and teaching and the sign instantly catches the giant little boy's eye. He doesn't know either of the people named though... at least, he doesn't think so.

"Oh! I wonder what kind of lessons they want to offer..."

Like Al could turn down learning.

Zillah looks over at Alphonse, intrigued and yes, excited still.

"Any kind!" she answers brightly.

Paul smiles a bit - Zillah's enthusiasm is endearing. "Hi," he tells the -- boy -- armor -- er. Hm. "-- I suppose that would depend on your interests. We're also looking for instructors at the moment."

Paul smiles a bit. "If you have an interest in history, I'll be glad to work with you," he says, pleased ridiculously to meet someone who shares his preferred field. "-- and I'm sorry, did you say alchemy?"

"Oh yes, I really like history!" He's just as excited sounding here. "And yes, alchemy. I worked with the military and state alchemists back home!" Would have passed the exam too, if, you know, he'd had a body.

"It's science!" He's happy to be talking about his favorite topic. "So many people think of it as some kind of magic cure-all, but really, it follows the same kinds of laws as other sciences. And it's amazing. You can do so much with it!"

"Really? I don't think I'd be a very good teacher though..." He shifts on his feet, feeling a bit embarrassed suddenly. "But... I suppose I could try? If you think people might like it."

Paul nods. "Maybe you can try with smaller groups, or even one on one, to start. It's less intimidating."

"Then... I think I'd like to." He's not sure how serious anybody would take him since he's not an adult or anything, but it at least sounds like fun.
