"Is he yours? I think he's hungry. Are you hungry?" She beams at them both.

And his keeper can't really keep from grinning a little, almost laughing, at the scene- "--maybe a little - I hope he's not bothering you too much," Trying to be apologetic, but he can't help his mouth twitching a little. Because people who can play with dogs are always good people.

And the puppy licks her face once more and turns around, looking only a little abashed as he comes back to heel, though still looking longingly at the food.
He seems to be good with this dog again, anyway.

"What would you like to eat? And you, Anto?" she asks, washing her hands and face with water from a pitcher because puppykisses are great, but dogspit isn't. "Would Anto like meat?"

Not questioning it? --"I'm all right," he says, "Unless there was something you expected to have leftovers of - he'll eat that gladly. Little pig," fondly, though, unmistakably so.

"Can I just give it to him? And are you really not hungry? It's not nice to come to a feast and not eat."
But there's a twinkle in her eye. She doesn't mean it that seriously.

"Be gentle," he says, and Anto bounds to his feet, tail wagging. Cleeg, meanwhile, can't help a bit of a grin. "Well - I don't want to be rude. I certainly don't object to anyone feeding me."

"Where did you get him, did he come with you?"

He sits down, then, looking to see what he can find, and kind of - tenses a little when she asks, remembering how uncertain he was about adopting another dog - if they would listen again, if they would avoid him as they did after Huan left, and the pain too of losing Huan all over again-
"No - there was a litter in the kennels, at some time. That's where I found him."

"Do you think there will be more litters?" she perks up, because, well, puppies, and perhaps not really noticing the tension, for now.
"I like dogs," she says. "And maybe I could build a door that he'd fit through. So he can stay with Iggy and me. If Iggy likes dogs." She doesn't know that, but she intends to ask. Maybe she can give Iggy a puppy in return.
