The game is over. Nobody won, any more than anyone in the Shinigami realm really won those interminable rounds of gambling. As soon as he realizes the game was coming to an end, that Light's fascinating plan had fallen apart, Ryuk leaves the warehouse, leaving the humans to squabble among themselves and phasing through the iron roof before vaulting

11-12 died before arriving here the first time - and since he'd been away had died another two times... Once murder, the other his second suicide. Plus the fact he was only something akin to an imaginary person prior to that, Ryuk may pick up on any or all of those peculiarities.

Right now he is reading in the main room, thinking he was alone. He sighed to himself and turned a page.

Man, not another reading person: he can't imagine how anyone can stay still with one of those... oh yeah, books, especially ones without any pictures. But if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, so he hovers closer to look over the kid's shoulder.

11-12 happens to glance back and yelps in surprise, startling, his eyes wide.

"Wh-what... who are you?" He looks shaken up by Ryuk's appearance.

"Well, 'what are you', works too," the thing says. "I'm a shinigami. My name's Ryuk."

[villageson]

"Shinigami?" He obviously had no idea what that meant. "Uh... Nice to meet you? I'm 11-12," he looked very nervous. Ryuk looked... dangerous.

"Yeah, we're kind of like death gods, but we usually stay out of sight in our own world," he says. "But I got curious about the human world, so I went for a look-see for a while."

[villageson]

"Death gods? Plural? There's more than one of you?"

[death_kl0wn]

"Yeah, there's a bunch of us: used to be more, but some kinda faded away," he says. With a half-shrug, he adds, "It happens."

[villageson]

"Whre I was there were gods and demons and vampires and... Are you a criminal?"

[death_kl0wn]

"Me? Not really: I'm kind of outside of all that right and wrong stuff. Never was able to get my head around it," he says. "There are some types who don't take too well to my kind, but we stay out of each other's way."

[villageson]

"It doesn't sound very nice though... Death gods," 11-12 said.

[death_kl0wn]

"Eh, we're all right. Not cuddly, but we're not evil, either. We're kind of outside the whole good and evil stuff," he says. "Never really got my head around all that, either."

[villageson]

"So what about other gods? I thought there was supposed to only be one."

[death_kl0wn]

"You mean like the Christian God?" he asks, vaguely remembering Light's religion class homework. "Well, as far as I know, He's kind of the big main one, but there's a lot of spirits and things that aren't the same but almost as powerful. It gets confusing, so I just listen to the stories and try not to think too much about the details."

[villageson]

"Confusing, yes... I never did understand much about religion."

[death_kl0wn]

"Yeah, me neither: I mean, I don't knock it, if that's what someone digs, but I don't mess around with it much, either. Not that I need to, since I'm not human, of course," he says.
