It's not impossible that Feanor has been more or less conspicuous lately. In fact, after much reflection, he's decided that the only way he could keep himself sane was to set about productive endeavors. To that effect, he effectively hijacked a corner of the library which he found to be rather unused. The walls have gone from cobwebbed to covered

Asato likes the library, even if he's still not very good at reading yet, and has been wandering the shelves, looking over books.

He'll come across someone that smells familiar, in the way that all those with the almost-proper ears do and he'll peek around the shelves curiously to see who it is.

And of course, Feanor will have to look up, and spot the --- hm. Yes. Not sure what Asato is. But he doesn't register as foul, just other.

"Hmmm?" It's invitation to approach, at least.

He's not getting yelled at so it's a good start. Asato will inch a bit closer and look over the maps.

"What are you planning?" It's an innocent question from someone that doesn't understand 'war' in a large sense, only small territorial battles.

Feanor might interpose himself a little between the maps and the Ribika.

"War," he replies. "Who is asking?"

"War? With who?" His gaze moves from the walls to the stranger.

"And I'm Asato of Kira."

Not of Beleriand, then - but he smells alive, and not twisted. This is good.

"You are not Atan, or Elda - what are you, then?"

Sorry, Asato - he's going to have a couple questions before he volunteers information.

Asato doesn't mind questions. He's learned that everyone asks them here.

"I'm Ribika. A cat, but I'm not like the cats that walk on four legs. I walk on two."

Yes, clearly, Feanor thinks.

"I see. And are there -- many like you?"

"Back home, everyone is Ribika. Here... I'm the only one." He considers Feanor. "What's your name?"

"Feanor," he replies, "High King of the Noldor," because he's a pompous and proud arse.

"I do not know of your people - where do you come from?"

[misborncat]

"I'm from Kira, but that's just my village. I know I'm not from any place anyone here is from."

Since, you know, he's the only cat here.

But not Beleriand, is the implication, which makes quite a bit of sense to him.

"Then I am sorry to hear that you have no kin here," which to him is almost inconceivable.

And at the same time... it would... maybe... but that means no wife, no sons. Sigh. Not the best scenario.

Asato shakes his head. "I have no family where I am from," he points out. "Only one friend and, while I miss him a great deal, I have made many friends here. More than I had even hoped for."

Hahaha. Asato with a wife and children... yeah, no.

"That is well," Feanor replies. "I seek to protect this place from a great evil - will you help me?"

That brightens him up a lot. "The one in the forest? Merlin and Lady ... Janelle are doing the same! I would be happy to help."

Finally! He's happy to get names, because he knew there were others. His interest is visible.

"I'm afraid we are not acquainted - will you tell me of these other folk you mentioned?"
