[Introduction] The Poisonous Flower Blooms Once Again...

Apr 11, 2010 20:01

...the shadow remains cast!

The sudden jerk of air filled up Aramat's lungs and quickly awoke her. Hollow hazel eyes blinked sharply open.

"Where am I?", she thought to herself. She was surrounded by grass, the spring sun beaming down upon her and the slight sounds of birds chirping filled her ears.  She quickly sat up and gazed at the plant she was ( Read more... )

Well, you don't see that every day, that's for sure. And Anita can smell the blood and the bewilderment from miles away - so here she is, sighing.

"You're not dead," she informs the new crazy person tiredly. "I'd know if you were."

Aramat scooted back a bit. Something was not really right at all with this girl, it was something that reminded her a bit of the last person she saw in her homeworld, someone who caused the madness that sealed the Lady's fate. A hunter of monsters.

"W-well, no. Can you please tell me where am I?"

Very apt description, Amarat. She's also wearing pants, which might not be something ordinary? But we're not sure.

"It's called the Mansion," she replies. "And no, you can't live, it's not on the planet or wherever you were before, and if you're dead, you're not dead anymore. Ah, yes, and you can stay free of charge in the big frat house, there's food in the kitchen and an evil god lurking somewhere. I think I covered everything."

Anita: greeter of new arrivals extraordinaire.

Aramat's hazel eyes opened wide. She was supposed to wake up in her world, only in another body. Add to that, she didn't really mean to be resurrected, it was just a joke to her Ladies, she didn't mean for them to take it seriously...

"Oh my god. It all looks familiar, like where I made my home, only dark colored. What is your name?"

"Blake," she replies, and her Southern drawl is probably familiar. "Anita's the first name. From St-Louis." She rolls her shoulders - there's something uncannily feline in the way she moves, undeniably.

"Where'd you come from, m'lady?" It's amusing - this one is almost a Southern Belle, straight out of Gone with the Wind.

Pants on women actually is familar to Aramat, sometimes her companions would dress up like men to entertain the Lady when she got too bored. But still a little odd to Aramat outside of visitors.

"Savannah, Savannah Georgia. I am Aramat Dawdes. Close friends call me Lady Aramat."

Anita isn't sure what to make of this - titles, she's been taught, are usually amongst strangers, or in very particular circles (she's a Nimir-Rah, after all). Not that Anita Blake was ever interested in protocol. She'll go for contemporary manners, instead.

"Alright, Ms. Dawdes," she replies. "I suppose you'd probably like to get yourself into something clean, wouldn't you?"

I feel the need to inform you that this icon you just used is 100% stupendous. Also wanted to ask if Aramat would sniff off as a vanilla human to Anita, or if she has any thing supernatural going on aside from being formerly dead.

Also would like to ask (I'm curious) how Aramat would react to a person of color, being from what I imagine is the segregationist South?

"Yes, but a Mr. Armand is handing that. Thank for you the offer though."

*OOC: Yeah, it's one of my favorites too, put some hazel contacts on Helena and you'd essentially would have The Lady. She'd smell a bit, since witchcraft was involved in bring Aramat back to life. Aramat wishes she was in that era, but alas she was born in the 2oth century and has strange and off kilter ways, so a person of color doesn't bother her too much. (Although she is slightly bias, due to the way she was raised.) But Aramat is always (susiously) polite to people.*

[I... would like to point you to our FAQ. Here's how we handle timelines, it's important for you to read it. It makes no sense for Amarat to have knowledge of her interaction with Armand downthread... and it's okay if several people get her clothes, the timeline is not linear. Please, do ask if you have a question, we're here for that too. Also, can you please put Amarat's name in the adequate field on her profile? As for ooc notes (I spotted your question below) you can use this code:

Noted about the smelling, thank you.]

Aramat shook her head. "Forgive me, I'm talking gibberish. Let us go."

Sorry, like I told you, I'm a complete and utter noob. (Thats why I told everyone to have patientice with me, I tend to mess things up. I'll get right to it. Thank you.

Anita raises her eyebrows, but this Scarlet wouldn't be the first crazy she meets, so she doesn't think too much of it.

She'll glance at her - there's something odd about the woman, but it's not something she can exactly place.

"Allrighty then," she drawls, and starts to walk with her. "So... it's gonna be strange, but when are you from, exactly?"

[No problem, we expect these little snafus on introductions with newbies - I'm telling you to help you, of course, it's perfectly alright. ^__^ Otherwise, you can't do anything about it, y/y?

At the risk of repeating what others have said, there's a lot of info in the Rules and FAQ which are linked at the top of the ooc com - it's a good idea to go over them.

And feel free to ask questions, always! There are no stupid questions. &hearts &hearts &hearts ]

Anita has beautiful brown eyes and gleaming black hair. She reminds Aramat of a tomboyish Alma. But alas, Aramat could sense that this girl wouldn't take too kindly to people like her.

"The 21st century. A century I shouldn't have existed in..."

That's... surprising, unless the typist misread the intro, of course. Anita tilts her head, curious.

"Why would you say that?"

"Because that century was never for me. I hate all progress that happened after the year 1914, save for a few things. I'd rather have my books, and my candlelight."

Aramat smiles at Anita. She likes girls with mouths on them... when they get on your nerves, you can always sew them shut... but never mind that.

"So Anita, what time are you from?"
