So, Sandor isn't at all certain how he agreed to this, or why he agreed to this, or possibly even what he agreed to. But he is a sucker for anything Phedre wants, and Phedre wants him to talk to this - winged blind boy, or whatever, and so talk to him he will.

However, he doesn't actually know where to go, for that. Hence, he's outside, greatsword ( Read more... )

This one isn't shy! And having a child's short memory has its advantages! So here she is, pouncing Sandor, luckily not on the side of the sword, which is about her height, we imagine.

"Hound!!!" And she's hugging his leg, yes.

WHOA GODS oh okay it's Sophie. And he thought - no, he's not sure what he thought it was. "---hello, Sophie," and probably trying not to smile, just a little, but also brow furrowed in consternation- "Where'd you come from? I didn't even hear you coming."

And now you are on my leg, hi.

Still hugging the leg! She's in fact very happy to see him. It's visible even for the vision-impaired.

"I was inside! I was playing with my dolls, and then I saw you, and I was so happy, I thought you had gone away for ever, like Gaheris and uncle Richard and I missed you so much and aren't you going to give me a hug?"

"...I can't very well when you're attached to my leg. If I try to move that much I'll fall over." Such a crazy little girl. "No, I'm still around. I didn't go anywhere. I don't know where I'd go if I wanted to."

She grins, chuckles, and lets go his leg, holding up her arms demandingly. "Oh good," she pontificates. "I'm really tired of people going away on me. It's like they don't like me, or something."

"I haven't been anywhere," he says, a little defensively. "Just out here, like this, or with Phedre. Nowhere - different."

Yeah, definitely defensive. Guilty conscience, maybe?

"Phedre? Who is that?" And she's still demanding her hug, in case you didn't notice, Sandor.

Oh, all right, fine. He reaches down and picks her up, half out of habit. Also because he's ridiculously Sophie-pecked. "--she's - someone close to me. A friend. I guess." How does one say 'I'm sleeping with her' to a six year old? Sandor has no experience with this.

"Oooooh, it's good to have a friend," Sophie said. "But you should't forget your other friends. Like me!"

For the record (not that it changes anything), Sophie's eight and a half, now, and probably has grown at least a bit since Sandor last saw her.

Probably, and we credit Sandor's oblivious about his not noticing this. She does seem heavier, though, particularly. "...how old are you, again, Sophie?" Frowning a little, and adjusting to hold her better. "And I didn't forget about you. I've been around if you wanted to see me."

She grins impishly. "Well, I haven't seen you. And I'm eight and a half." Nod nod nod.

"...all grown up. Well, maybe you need to look harder. I didn't think I blended in that much." He makes like to set her down, but she can easily argue that point.

"Heeeey!" she's just going to cling, because that's not allowed.

--well then. He doesn't let her down, then, adjusts her to better distribute her weight. "--okay. Am I going to have to hold you all afternoon? You're not quite as light as you used to be."

She giggles and kisses his cheek, whichever one is closest, at typist discretion. "You're funny, Hound. Take me to the lake?"

"...I'm funny?" Weird girl. Not that she ever wasn't. "...all right. Since you asked so nicely. What do you want to do there?"
