[Crackplot] April Fools Day!

Apr 01, 2010 16:01

The boys have been busy - quite busy. You see, dear folks of the Mansion - these twins have been reading Edain books. And have found out about pranks - not that they weren't into those before - when Molly Carpenter was around, they got in trouble with shenanigans often enough.

Perhaps it's nostalgia for those simpler days that brings them to this.

It started with a bag of popcorn, which Tsuzuki has been munching on while reading a manga magazine he happened to find on a table in the library. The first few handfuls were just find, quite tasty, in fact. But then the eighth or ninth --

"BLEAGH!!! Hey! who put packing peanuts in this bag?!" he demands, peering into the bag.

Robin wanders in just on the trail of Tsuzuki's exclamation. "You too?" He's not particularly happy.

Then again, his very fashionable shirt is... stained. Damn that pen. It looked like it would fit nicely in his pocket...

It had been a while... hadn't it? ^^

"Yeah, ugh," Tsuzuki mutters, digging bits of styrofoam out of his molars. "Is Ariel at it again, or did we really pick up a trickster this time?" he asks. "I mean, I've pulled some pranks on my supervisor, but not if he didn't deserve it, and nothing as criminal as, uh, an exploding pen." He's about to offer to help Robin out of that wrecked shirt, but he's not sure this is the right moment...

Robin sniffs the air, shakes his head. "No, nothing magic that I can feel - you?"

He's always willing to get out of his shirt, Tsuzuki. No fretting allowed!

Muraki has not been having a good morning. It started with finding a Hello Kitty plush tucked beside his pillow; normally, he'd suspect that Ukyou had left it there after they'd spent the night together, but he knows she isn't with him. He took care of that, and someone may find a dismembered Hello Kitty plush on the lawn where he threw the damned thing out the window.*

Then the hot water suddenly died in his shower, which had him swearing like an Osaka longshoreman: cold water plus healing burns -- even ones covered with plastic wrap -- do not make a good combination.

About a half hour later, he comes fuming into the main room, his good eye as cold as ice and a white eye patch covering the other.

"Who took my glass eye?" he demands, in a nitrogen-cold voice that would send Hans Gruber crying for his Mutti.**

*No harm intended to Hello Kitty: I like her, but Muraki probably does not.

**Bit of an in-joke here: some people have described Show Hayami, Muraki's original voice-actor, as a Japanese Alan Rickman

The hippy in the common room doesn't have your glass eye, Muraki. And he shifts in his seat in response to the question... which causes the fart cushion under him to let out a rather bellowing, thundering fart-like sputter.

And here's George Berger, going.... "What the fuck?"

*snerk* Couldn't resist. >.>

"If this is someone's idea of a joke --" he starts, then tries not to jolt at the racket coming from under the cushion. "Was that you or another prank?" he asks, stiffly.

:: Snerk-snerk-snerk:: The hippy and the square (well, technically he'd come under the heading, even if his tastes swing both ways...): this should be good...

"I wish it were, but no beans for me this weak," Berger replies, chuckling. "Dude, chillax," he reaches, finds the cushion. "It's just a little prank."

This has hilarious potential indeed. ^^

It's quite early in the morning and he should really go to sleep-- he probably spent the night watching Natalie lost in their dream (which was lovely, by the way), but Adrian decides it might be still dark enough outside for him to go and have a cigarette on the porch.

He pushes the front door gingerly, testing the murky dawn with half-closed eyes. Looks good; looks safe.

Splash.

Now this-- this is far from being good. Or safe.

Adrian is drenched from head to toe and looking quite miserable on the threshold. Lacking any other solution, he kicks the now empty bucket and utters a string of swears.

Scherehazade walks in just after hearing the splash - enough to get some on the hem of her dress, and to now look worried by the show of temper.

--- "Adrian?"

He'll kick the bucket once more for good riddance, before he turns on his heels to face her. He's not angry - he'd taken it out on the bucket - but rather soaken, and there's a muscle twitching on his face.

"Excuse me," he says lightly, "but this? I'm way past the age of camp pranks."

Scheherazade is still gawking. "--- that's -- very unfortunate. You should -- change. You might catch a cold, perhaps."

Gellert is well aware of the date and he skillfuly avoids some string meant to trip people up, jumping over it with a chuckle. He keeps alert to other joking dangers and opens a door with a bucket overhead with a little less caution - but his nimble reflexes still allow him to step back quickly as the water falls, which leaves him only splashed and not soaking.

He laughs again and keeps walking through the doorway. "Really... Too easy..."

Steerpike has had a similar experience - he's resorted to walking about very carefully - and avoiding rather efficiently most pranks.

But when he gets to his room, the door seems glued shut, which seems to be rather... inconvenient to the young man.

And that's why Gellert sees him struggling with a doorknob in the hallway... and then cursing because said doorknob stayed in his hand.

Gellert raises his eyebrows at the other young man.

"Is there a problem?" He asks, lightly amused.

"I seem to be locked out of my room," he replies, a touch stiffly. "It's quite unnerving."

Asato is ... well, he doesn't understand the idea of 'April Fool's Day' and is sitting on a windowsill, soaking wet, and trying to clean himself off. He's licking the water off his arms at the moment and wondering why he kept getting wet whenever he went through a door today.

Adrian would call on him from inside, anytime. He's been through the same experience once and could use a friend to complain to.

Asato looks up and brightens a bit at seeing a familiar face. He's still dripping and looking rather miserable, but not as much.

"What happened?"

"I just had a nasty experience when a bucketful of water decided to fell on me, but that asides-- nothing. Yet."

He notices Asato's soaken fur. "What about you?"
