[Open: Galadriel] Nor shall anything of my realm endure that a son should inherit.

Oct 13, 2013 23:11

Another one of hers has gone. Having returned, she found his room empty and devoid of activity. And she knew - it was only confirmation.

It was something she knew would happen. It was, by many ways, inevitable. Galadriel has come to expect that her loved ones will all go, one by one, as they did once.

She was the last living scion of Finwe by the ed of the Second Age, why would it be any other way here?

Some of her is resentful that he had to be taken, some of her is grateful, because she has hopes that he may be redeemed.

She might be found alone by the lake, brooding.

She might be found in her greenhouse, busying herself.

She might be found somewhere in the Mansion, preparing a care package for her ward.

She might be located in any of her kin's abodes, save for her uncle's, which she still resents and distrusts.

She might even be pondering the Mirror, and what solace it could bring her, or not.

[OOC: Title from the Silmarillion: "Now King Finrod Felagund had no wife, and Galadriel asked him why this should be; but foresight came upon Felagund as she spoke, and he said: An oath I too shall swear, and must be free to fulfil it, and go into darkness. Nor shall anything of my realm endure that a son should inherit."

As implied, he has indeed been dropped, and so Galadriel gets an open post. Anyone welcome. She may or may not talk about her woes, private as she is.]
