[Open] I'm not alive. I'm not dead. I'm just...

Boyle has been keeping to himself as much as possible since he's arrival here. Sticking to only going out at night and more or less haunting the less populated places of the Mansion. Old habits are hard to break after all and he's still not quite used to not being seen as less than dirt by the livebloods ( Read more... )

Here's someone who hasn't been walking on screen for a while. Cyrano will come to the library, looking forward to seeing Boyle.

He's actively looking for the chak: the undead man has an ability no other can claim, since Cyrano talks to him... as an equal.

And he is in need of counsel.

Boyle can be found in a quiet, dim corner of the library, a number of large sheets of paper open in front of him where he appears to be sketching out a very, very rough blueprint of the Mansion. There are a few torn and crumpled up papers at his feet where frustration got the better of him and he would do well to see a calming presence at this time.

Cyrano is feeling much the same way about his own work, but perhaps they can be mutually beneficial. He pauses, leaning against the shelves, and says, "Inspiration is being harsh, hmmm?"

Looking up, Boyle manages a raspy chuckle and nods once.

"Something like that. I have the ... basics down, but the details ... elude me. I am glad to see you up."

"A familiar quandary if I ever knew any," Cyrano replies as he ambles over to take a seat. "Is that an attempt at cartography I see?"

"An attempt, yes," Boyle says with a frown. "It was something I did back where I was before." It wasn't anything fancy or impressive by the living Franks standards, but dead Frank was proud of it.

"This place makes... Detailed work difficult though."

Cyrano sighs, and agrees. "Oui, mon ami, that it does," he says a little tiredly. "At this time last year, my play was finished. The interference is driven me to madness this year."

He smiles a little, sympathetically.

"I feel your frustration."

"Perhaps your new play is not ... meant to be performed? It is skillfully written."

FTB or continue? I am fine with either. Sorry for such a terrible delay.

He rubs his face again, sighs. "I feel it is meant to be read, and that it would benefit from proper narration," he replies. "The frame of the play is almost that of a public reading, and how dreadful that can be, to those who yet need that edification the most!"

We can summarize, if you want, and do something more current? Or we can go on, because this is timeless. Up to you, sweetheart.

Edit: As agreed, a summary - we can assume Boyle convinces Cyrano to change his form and medium, and to write a novel, instead?

I miss you. I really hope you're okay <3
