Some time after Agravain's death, Mordred leaves.
Not to go anywhere in particular -- where could he go? But there came a point when he couldn't stand to be around this place, all the people. He never was good at coping, and the death of his brother brought back too many thoughts and memories. It's not running away, he told himself, it's just for a while, just to clear his goddamn head before he goes crazy again. So he packs up some things, one morning, and walks out into the woods.
But that was a couple of months ago, and he's sort of confused, now -- he doesn't think he's been gone that long, but he doesn't know how long he has been -- everything is muddled in his head. Somewhere along the way he lost track of time and place, or he wouldn't have left for so long. Some days the memories in his head are so strong he forgets he's not there anymore -- back at Camlann, back at Camelot, back with all his family, living and well, then dead and gone.
But he's got a son here, after all, who's bad enough at staying out of trouble, and who's probably been left unsupervised too long. And though he took a bundle of food with him, and hunting tools, hiding out in the forest alone is beginning to get harder, and he can't find any sort of peace. Mostly though, he thinks of his son, his living brother, and somewhere in his head there's some glimmer of hope that maybe Agravain is coming back. Those are things he knows, even if he can't quite remember how long he's been here.
It won't fix things, he knows, because now he's got the memory of being covered in his dead brother's blood twice over, and that doesn't go away. But God, if Agravain ever comes back -- that would be something, anyway.
So Mordred's walking back towards the house from the woods. He looks a bit worse for wear -- scruffy, in need of a bath, and thinner than he was, tired.
so, finally i have returned :p poor Mordred has not dealt well with his brother's death in the interim months, and in fact has no idea that agravain's back. feel free to send whoever, he might be a lil grumpy though
