By now, he's likely found a clean shirt and slacks, but might have his left arm in a sling, the better to immobilize his shoulder (we suspect he's likely enough of a skeptic that he'll take this precaution, even after his encounter with Genkai). And since information is one of the better forms of wealth, he's exploring this place, getting the lay of the land.
"So many books, so much time?" he asks, friendly enough.
His eyes turn in Malcolm direction, strangely cold for someone his age. "Not really, books are more tools if anything. I've never read for recreation before."
The kid's appearance makes him think of some of the club kids at the night spot that Tommy had opened, but the youngster's eyes are too old to match the rest of him.
"Neither do I, not much. Used to read the odd novel or poetry, but... well, that was a long time ago," he says.
"Malcolm Merlyn: just woke up here earlier today," he says, offering his free hand.
The older man's grip suggests a strength capable of crushing the other's hand, but there's an immense amount of control as well: he's dangerous, but only when he feels the need to be.
"Pleasure to meet you," he replies. "I'm slowly settling in: wish I knew how I got here. Last I knew, I was losing consciousness, next thing I knew, I was in the kitchen here."
He does notice that, Oscar makes a note to never fight this man in direct hand to hand combat if the situation calls for it. Use other mehods if available. He finds that's a near constant in his head now that he's free from that company. Meeting a person and wondering about ways to kill them.
He sort of likes it, whatever small amount of sentiment was killed when it was discovered that his mentor didn't love him back, or he no longer had to follow those silly rules called morals.
Maybe that pig woman would be thanked.
"I assure you there are worse ways to arrive."
If there is a sequel series to Oscar's canon, I call dibs of him becoming the next big bad, or at the very least a badass crossdresser with a moral code like the main characters.
Fortunately, he's fairly hard to anger to that point, unless you've taken something of deep value to him, and right now, he hasn't put down enough roots to have any territory to defend, as it were.
"Worse ways than an arrow to the chest from an enemy?" he asks, dryly. "Too much information, sorry: last thing that happened to me before I got here, so it stuck with me.
Looks like Funimation is dubbing ye series, so hopefully soon, I'll be up to speed.
Oscar was never much of a reader.

He shakes Malcolm's hand. "Oscar Riviere. Are you settled in?"
