[Open] There is a tree as old as me
It's been on his mind before the catastrophe, but now the project has bloomed more completely into Ned's mind. It was in the would be nice category before - now it's moved into a category of urgency he wasn't aware of. He's not risking losing Cat again, and he's got the children to think of. The girls are nigh grown, Robb is a man, but now, they have Cairn, too.
He knows there are wolves out there, but he thinks he can create something defensible, even without Benjen to fight at his side. It will require much work, he knows, and he will need help. Still, the project is something to do, and something that matters to him.
And so he is setting about to do what needs to be done.
He might be in his solar, confering with family, but he might also be found scouting the grounds on a gelding from the stables, or standing before the heart tree in the godswood Jaenelle made for him, all these years ago. He may seek out his friends and allies, but he is also willing to work with new faces.
To that effect, a notice has been put up in the common room, asking for help from anyone willing to work construction, with directions to his solar..
