[Introduction] "Now you're lost and you're lethal And now's about the time you gotta leave all"

There was no sense brooding like a raven on a wire, buffeted by a windstorm. When Turing had grabbed Finch, Reese's center of gravity had been cut out from beneath him, but he was not the broken man of the winter before, likely to spiral the drain leading to an early grave: now he had a purpose, and while they could take away the man who'd given him that purpose, they couldn't take that purpose away. He had to find Finch before Turing wore him down: Finch had a strong intellect, and his paranoia was one of his strongest defenses, but if someone could get behind that armor, he would crumble. A storm is gathering, and when it breaks, the torrent will fall over Turing's head, even if he has to move heaven and hell to find her and where she's taken Finch.

The very same Machine that had helped them save so many people, now it was its turn to help him save it's own creator. The electronic voice on the payphone whispered a string of numbers: the Social Security number of someone to go to for help? Coordinates for a possible safehouse where Turing had gone to ground?

Suspecting it was the latter, Reese hung up the phone and let himself back into the disused library that had been their base of operations. Finding a large empty canvas duffel bag in one of the cupboards he'd appropriated for his arsenal, he set to work stocking it, stuffing in a pair of Glocks as well as a few clips, two flash-bang grenades and the camera with the long lens. No telling how long this would take, so he made his way to the wardrobe he kept in the corridor leading from the main reading room into the stacks, throwing in a few shirts and a few clean pairs of shorts and socks.

He strides for the door that he's passed in and out of for so many months, on the tail of a number that the Machine has given him, and now he has the most crucial number of all.

As he lifts the latch and pulls open the door, he steps out, expecting the granite steps to the street outside. But instead, a flash of lightning blinds him and a blast of thunder deafens him. He didn't remember the sky darkening, and it's too early in the season for a storm like this to come up so suddenly.

His sight clears and he finds himself standing on a porch somewhere, overlooking a lawn with an ornamental pond, trees lashing in the winds of a summer storm.

"This the coordinates you gave me?" Reese asks, looking up, expecting to see a surveillance camera with a red electronic eye, watching from the overhang above his head. But there's none to be seen....

Name: John Reese
Fandom: Person of Interest
Media: TV show
Typist: matrixrefugee
Other relevant info: Title nicked from "Risingson" by Massive Attack. Reese will be arriving from just after the ending of the Season One finale, thus he'll be ...a bit confused. Also likely irked, but not dangerous, unless provoked. And it takes a *lot* to provoke him.
