to say what you feel is to make your own grave [introduction]

All right, so people--namely, Mrs. Kidd and her husband--were upset about Marlene's promotion. So what? If Howard Kidd had had a heart attack because she got promoted, then he could die, for all Marlene cares. She doesn't have time for niceties, particularly with men who looked down upon her.

She decides to grab some water before heading back to work. She needs a break from this constant barrage of criticism, she thinks. Not like she can't take it--on the contrary, she certainly can, and can also manage to criticize right back. But still.

Marlene walks down the hallway, and turns the corner, and then--she is standing in a room that is decidedly not part of the Top Girls Employment Agency. In fact, it appears to be someone's living room.

She walks around it a moment, observing it. Then she can feel the panic rising within her, and swallows quickly. This isn't where she's supposed to be.

"Oh, for God's sake! Angie?" she says, to no one in particular. She's lost it, she decides. She's bloody bonkers now, from the stress and the news of the heart attack--Jesus Christ, this is just what she needs, to go insane.

"Help?" She figures if she's gone crazy, then she might as well ask for help. No harm in doing that, right?

Name: Marlene
Fandom: Top Girls
Media: lol it's a play! Of course, Louisa, how predictable.
Typist: Louisa!
Other relevant info: Marlene is taken from the middle of the play, and she's kind of terrible sometimes. As in, bitchy and distrustful of men, ahahaha.
