He's lost in thought and hasn't noticed the sad young woman, but the noise he's making as he searches for coffee is probably enough to attract her attention.

He's really not finding what he wants, and it's visible. He swears in French under his breath, not realizing that there is someone else in the room.

Whoa! That was unexpected, and Pascal drops the cup, which chatters into 3940348390483098 pieces on the floor. "Oh, mon dieu, I'm so sorry, Mademoiselle --- I didn't see you ---" He's rushing to fetch a broom.

"Oh! I'm sorry--" She feels really bad about that, Pascal.

"No, no, I was lost in my thoughts, Mademoiselle, it's quite alright ---"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, yes, of course, Mademoiselle. I am so very sorry...."

"Really, it's all right."
