So 21 days have past since the departure from Bangkok back to Germany. The 88 days Yui and I spent in Southeast Asia were a lot of fun. I feel like a learned a lot about the four countries we visited, about the people living there and their culture and customs. Yui and I often just started walking with no particular destination in mind and most of the time discovered things we otherwise wouldn‘t have seen! I feel like we really got a genuine picture of the countries and the people living there thanks to that.
Our route ended up being like this
Bangkok → Ko Chang → Sihanoukville → Kampot → Kep → Phnom Penh → Siem Reap / Angkor Wat → Phnom Penh → Ho Chi Minh City → Phu Quoc → Ho Chi Minh City → Hoi An → Hue → Hanoi → Vientiane → Vang Vieng → Luang Prabang → Chiang Mai → Ko Samui → Bangkok
or, more visual,
Looking back, the trip itself really seems like a piece of cake. We never faced major difficulties traveling around. I remember being a bit insecure before we left Germany, thinking about all the things that might possibly go wrong. Of course, there were some small difficulties from time to time but everything always worked out somehow! So I really encourage anyone who is playing with the thought of doing a trip like this to just do it! It‘s a fantastic experience and I‘m so glad that Yui and I decided to do this little journey.
So, that‘s it for that. After a short stay in Germany, I‘m actually now on my way to Japan where I will stay in Osaka for 4 1/2 months. I will study at a Japanese language school and live with a host family. I really want to improve my Japanese language skills during that time, so I‘m planing to study a lot! (At least that‘s what I think now, we will see how that will work out . . . ;)) Well, I‘m off. いってきま~す. See you from Japan✩彡
