Moving is a thing that can make you tired

Yes, there are indeed many ways in which moving can make you tired.

Like, yesterday we spent from 4pm to 1am moving very heavy furniture into the (third floor, no elevator) apartment of the friend we are giving it to. She is not in town yet, so it was basically just me and Sylvia and many large, unreasonably heavy wads of household furnishing. That was a fun time. 'Fun time' here means 'experience that caused us to wake up the next morning barely able to move.'

(Parenthetically, I have been reading the Lemony Snicket 'Series of Unfortunate Events' books, which are some pretty charming books, all-told. That, as you probably figured out, explains the above sentence. Sylvia and I just finished reading the second book of the series out loud up at the top of East Rock as we rested on the grass and tried not to die of the aching.)

Anyway, another way in which moving can make you tired is that it can make you scared and excited and busy and sad to be leaving and stressed and stuff all at the same time, and this can potentially make you somewhat emotionally exhausted. I realized today at church that this is my second last Sunday at Resurrection until goodness knows when. I mean, probably the weekend of The Game I would guess. But still, leaving until a quick visit back three months from now is still a pretty big thing. So that kind of creeped up fast. Wow. I mean, that's been my church for four years now. That is a long time. I am sad to be going. I hope we are able to find a church anywhere near as good down in DC.

So yeah, we are living in an apartment that is mostly freed of furniture now. Soon it will be even freed-er, because on the 12th of August, early in the morning, we will be outta here. Crazy!
