Ultra Walmart Special

You know, I thought it was a rumor but it seems to be true (it is not at all publicized for some reason). Wal-mart is selling Utada Hikaru's latest album, Ultra Blue for $14.88 starting today. Sadly, the website says "out of stock" but I've read a few posts of people who said they bought it in the store. So there you go-- a Japanese album at Wal-mart. To bad that I already bought it, haha. Although, I do like Hikki's music enough to buy another one considering how I treat the Japanese Ultra Blue cd case with tender lovin' care... (It doesn't even sit with the other cds. It gets to hang out with my manga and plushie cactuar.)

Tonight I wrote the four page paper about the reference desk observations. A very easy paper since I could only write about what was observed like my impressions of the layout of the library.
Although I certainly have quite a few other things I need to work on, I'm giving myself a breather for the rest of the night.

Ashlie wrote and said she might be in town this weekend for the football game (actually, I don't think they have tickets-- they just want to hang out?) Anyway, I don't have any details but if she's in town of course I'll be hanging out with her for a while. :)

Hmm, I also got my October issue of ShojoBeat. The latest series to be added to the magazine is Kanoko Sakurakoji's Backstage Prince. Backstage's first chapter seems more like a one-shot-- the characters actually resolve to have a romance by the end. I'm guessing that the chapter was so popular that it became a series (I liked it). The art reminds me a lot of the work in Koukou Debut (and if you like that series, you might have an interest in this one too). Since I've only really had the chance to read one chapter, I can't say what the series will be about but I'm sure it has something to do with Kabuki theater.
I continue to love reading NANA and Vampire Knight. I also continue to ignore Baby & Me and have on-again-off-again feelings about Absolute Boyfriend and Crimson Hero.

This issue has fewer articles but it does seem to have more full color pages. In case you didn't already know, manga is made to be viewed in black/white but when a chapter is featured in its publishing anthology (in Japan) often the first 2-3 pages will be printed full color. SBeat has gone to printing all the chapters in colors too (red/white, blue/white, etc.) which took a bit to get used to but now I don't really notice.
Oh yes, and this month's dress up outfit for the mascot panda is a EGL dress (cosplaying as the covergirl, Yuki from Vampire Knight).
