Dogs

On a completely opposite side of the manga scale from last night's note (on Honey Bunny)- I've recently read through a bit of a manga called Dogs by Shiro Miwa.
Dogs is a Seinen drama (read: target audience is men 18-25 - compare with Cowboy Bebop, Akira, xxxHOLiC, Maison Ikkoku, etc. Basically an adult series- and no, that does not mean pornographic.).
Dogs is of the alter-dystopia-world style. I've only read the first volume, but it has a number of chapters that stand alone as one-shots- but eventually the characters seem to tie together/meet up. There is some sort of genetic experiment background story and people that live "underground" (as all genetically 'enhanced' people seem to do in these kind of stories)...
Basically- a really confusing plot to explain. But rest assured- there are a lot of guns, sharp objects, mutilation, blood, and death. Yea!
Have I mentioned that the characters are rather cool?- crazy badasses. ;)

The artist has a website... so just for fun- links to two of the pages of art from Dogs:
Mmm, tasty bullets
Looking a bit psycho, huh. Strange gun.

Technically, Dogs was published in 2001 as a single volume. Then, in 2004 there was a short one-shot titled Dogs: Hardcore Twins... and now there is again what appears to be a continuation of the original which started July of 2005 (I'm unsure if it is complete or still running) named Dogs: Bullets and Carnage.

Anyway, Dogs seems to have a decent following for such a small series. I've heard about it for a while now so I figured I'd eventually check it out. It def. started out in a really confusing way but by the end I wanted more...
