Analyze My Fight, Please.

I had a fight with Robert, and I need to know who is at fault. Please don't allow for friendship bias or anything of that nature to sway your opinion, if I was wrong, tell me so. The conversation started with Robert showing me a picture of the hotel he booked for prom weekend, and it went as follows ( Read more... )

Although I do have a bias towards you, Carolyn, and I think (out of context) your are right, I completely sympathize with Robert. He said explicitly that he felt something boiling beneath the surface for a long time. While you may not have experienced that feeling, he did and it was very easy for a conversation online to be "the backbreaker"(<- i like that part the best). Because I know you, the fight makes it seem like you both have an extremely hard time communicating, but so does everyone online. He couldn't possibly have known what intonnation you were using, what face you were making or especially what you were thinking at the time. You have to realize that coming from someone who has felt the water boiling for 7 months would have taken your comment differently than you may have meant it. But in reading a second time, I think that it seems more possible you did mean it sarcastically. (i don't mean to offend you, but you asked for honesty) If Robert has been feeling tense for so long there has to be a reason and the only one I can think of is that you may have done or said a lot of other things just like that comment before this specific situation.

But I think the problem is not what actually happened. I think that friends shouldn't talk about anything online besides complete nonsense. Especially couples. They shouldn't talk together online at all.

That said: this will be my last livejournal comment or appearance for a very long time, hopefully.
