Hello All!

Good lord, this holiday is just going on forever! Where to begin?

Tuesday: Nepali Sweets Day where I was fed a disgusting amount of Nepali Sweets (including Jeri which I like, it's sort of like fried dough and my dad tried some when he was in Nepal) and then this otehr things which was like flour and water in a white ball with a cold sugary sauce, it was not good but i don't want to offend anyone by not eating something! And of course after eating so many sweet my stomach was upset!

Wednesday: The boys got meat donated and also a previous volunteer brought milk and ice cream, which was awesome because some of our boys had NEVER eaten meat before, so they of couse ate a lot of milk, ice cream, meat, and then dhaal butt. As you can imagine their little bodies aren't used to that sort of food and I cleaned up a lot of vomit, which is disgusting, What is especially disgusting (and i was really sad because they were so excited about all this food and then less than an hour later every boy had dierra or vomiting) was the littliest one puked (a nice ricy mixture) all over my foot~ and my toe is still scabbed over and it stung from the vomit, which is gross, but i think even my gross stories entertain most of you!

Thursday/ Wednesday Night: I woke up because I felt something scurry past my head, now in this house I have a mosquito coil so no mosquito net, and i'm thinking maybe it was just a cockroach or something that scurried past my head, i'd be ok with that, but then i heard this "thing" shuffleing on the floor (and it's pitch black in my room at 3: 00A.M.) And, as any normal person would do I jump out of bed, give a little yelp, and flick my light on, but I don't see anything! I can only assume it was a mouse! (I hope it was a mouse and not a rat) And so I don't sleep, by lay awake in fear of this animal returning, which thank god, it doesn't!

In the morning I told my host family and they said, "Ahh, rat, you afraid of rat?" And I said, yes, what can i do to get rid of it? ANd they said, oh rat and mice very very common in our house, "ke garnu" which means "what to do?" I said, well how do you get rid of it? And they said, "ahhh, ke garnu" another 5 times and laughed at me for being afraid, but I don't want to sleep every night in fear of a mouse attack (i hope it was just a mouse, it left some poops on the floor which are quite small so it can't be that big) so finally my Nepali sister and I checked my room which is now "mouse/rat free" and she told me to stuff something under my door every night (clothes or a book or something) and then the rat/mouse can't get into my room~ I hope that works!

Thursday: During the day it was Dashain Trash Burning Day where everyone in our village burned their trash at exactly the same time (i don't think thi s was for the gods, maybe the government told them they should? ) let me tell you,i have never smelled anything so rank in my entire life!

Friday: Health Fun Day at our orphanage,so I took our boys to another orphanage and we did health related activities in a competition, it was really fun! so now all our boys know how to check for lice properly, and how to brush their teeth probably and we had a lot of fun!

And today, Saturday, I am taking a day off, horray for a lazy day sitting in a bar called Cheers Bar, drinking coke and watching movies (the bar will play any movie you request) it's awesome! I hope that you are all doing well, and I'm sorry this is such a long e-mail but this festical is crazy times!
