Today was my birthday. I am now the oldest thing ever.
But seriously, I had a great birthday. It was very small and informal and cozy. I went out to dinner with my family and Pete to Guadalajara (...spelling? I took German.) Then we came home, ate cake, and I got to open my presents. My parents got me new earrings to replace the one that I lost in Morris. Theresa got me a really nice little "friendship box" made by Willow Tree. I have a couple of their angels; they're very cute. She also got me a nice pair of earrings.
At work today we went to three Hutterite colonies. Riverside, Huron, and Shamrock. I really like going out to talk to people to get their diet information. I like seeing them face-to-face and establishing a rapport with the different participants. If you can make even a small connection with them, the really open up and I like to think that it makes their day a little more special.
We had the most fabulous fried chicken for lunch at Riverside. mmmmmmm...delicious. I don't usually like fried chicken, but this was just so...tasty. Probably terrible for you, but delicious none the less.
Other Notes:
yellow cake and chocolate frosting...the best cake ever. Yellow cake is good. Chocolate frosting is good. Put them together and it's like they have super powers.
I'm not going to see Pete for a whole week. He's going to harvest someplace tomorrow and he'll be really tired when he gets home. Then Friday he's going to Canada with Dave and Jacob. Before he gets back, I'm going to Madison, WI. I'm going to be gone from Sunday to Wednesday. This is unheard of for us. It's rare if we don't see each other every day.
iPod sucks a lot. I still hate apple for coming out with new ones. Very bitter.
But on the plus side, I'm not a teenager anymore!
