After sleeping in, at least more or less, and having breakfast, we drove to Gabo Girao which was a really amazing place. Gabo Girao is the steepest coast of Europe. That's correct, Mica, isn't it? The view out of Gabo Girao was amazing. I loved it. We also saw some boats. They looked very small and cute and I'm actually not sure whether they were really that small. :)
Next, we drove to Ponta do Pargo which was amazing as well. We visited two different places there. The first one was really spectacular. It was a steep coastline as well and I was walking around next to the coastline, took some pics and so on.
The other stop at Ponta do Pargo was near a café/restaurant with an amazing view over the ocean. We went into the café to warm up because it was a bit windy which didn't mean that it was cold, but it was just windy which made us a bit freezing. But it was sunny as well. I drank a cappuccino in there. Haha, you know that I love cappuccino. :) After being in the café we walked around took some pics of us. The view out of there was really breathtaking! There were some rocks in the sea which looked really interesting. They looked like the 12 (or now 11) Apostels in Melbourne. We took quite a lot of pics. Of course, we had to record our memories there. Some of the photos were really funny. You could see that it was windy. :)
After being to Ponta do Pargo, we continued our little journey to Porto Moniz. Firstly, we stopped somewhere before reaching Porto Moniz. It was something which was similar to a lookout. We could see Porto Moniz from there. The town looked really lovely. We could also the natural swimming pools. They actually looked interesting and amazing.
We drove down to the town and stopped there of course. We had lunch then. I'm not sure about the time, but I think it was already 2 pm or even later when we arrived. But I didn't care about it at all. The day until then had been just great and lovely with all "the Santos" around. ;) I ate Espada for the first time. It was yummy, I loved it. Espada is a sword fish (Degenfish in German) which is fried. Oh, yummy! I want to eat it again. Mica, can you send me some Espada, please? *g*
After having lunch, we walked around in Porto Moniz. It was a lovely place. I saw the natural swimming pools. We didn't go swimming that day (but they promised me that we would go again there for a swim in the following week and yes, we went there!!). We walked around to another place where you could go swimimng as well. It was really interesting for me. I had never seen such an interesting place to go swimming again.
We drove back to Funchal then, home. I think we relaxed in the evening, even it was already a bit late when we reached home. It had been such a great day. I really started to love Madeira island and I thought: "Why hadn't you come here before??!!"
