Sunday, 9th September - flying to Bangkok

Sep 17, 2007 14:23

We had to get up at 7 am and we were picked up at 8.45 am. It was definitely to leave the hotel because we spent there a really nice time which I will never forget!

We were very early at the airport and we had to wait for a long time until we could board the plane. So, we went to a restaurant and drank a coffee. It was bloody cold at the airport because of the air conditioning. It is unnecessary to cool down the temperature to 20°C, that difference is too much for my sake when it is about 35°C outside! It's unhealthy to do that.

Our flight to Bangkok took us about an hour and we were brought to our hotel in Bangkok then. The hotel was good and it was a really huge one, lots of floors! The hotel room was not bad, but the view out of the window was the best. Another advantage was that it was in the centre of Bangkok.

We went for a walk then. We bought something to eat and walked around, but only near our hotel.

My pen pal, Duang, came at 5 pm to the hotel. It was the first time I met her! Oh, it was special to meet her. We have been writing to each other for 10 years now and we've finally met! Yeah, it was great and imagine, I immediately recognised her (she recognised me as well!!).

We took a taxi and this taxi driver was a strange guy, esp. because he diddled the three of us! He took us to a place where we could buy jewellery. My pen pal felt embarrassed because of that because she didn't want to go there and so we only walked through that place and took a tuk tuk to another place in Bangkok. Duang said that she didn't want to go there and also said that she didn't listen to all what the taxi driver was saying because he talked too much (yeah, she was right because he was talking all the time).

So, we went to a market which was a nice one and it was not far from our hotel. We also went into a shopping to snoop around. When we were hungry, we went to Mc Donalds. Yeah, that's not the best restaurant, but all of us didn't mind to eat that because it was in the shopping centre.

After having dinner, we went to a night market by tuk tuk. Emi bought a suitcase at the market. Only a small one which would be his hand luggage. He also bought a photoalbum (a lovely one!!), two T-Shirts and postcards. Of course, I also bought a few things such as a bag (which is a great one and Duang made a really good price for me!! *yeah*), a T-Shirt and a small frog (made of wood - that's a typical souvenir - it was also sold in Phuket, but it was too expensive there!).

At last, we went back to the hotel by tuk tuk. It was not late yet, but all of us felt tired. So, I went to bed early. :)
