I thought it's high time I updated my preferences, especially since I signed up to a number of Avenger-themed communities, so I did :)

lol. The sex is great, but I mostly get into a fandom when there's some character or pairing I just didn't get enough of in the series. That's how I found the HP fandom - guiltily seeking snarry. It's ballooned from there!

But I do have quite a few fandoms, though I spend the majority of my time on Harry Potter, I do dabble. Mostly anime and games.

I used to be a Naruto fan (and deny the fact that it's really terrible, because there was one character I just loved enough to ignore the rest for), but that's long since past.

Inuyasha is also mostly a thing of the past for me, but I do read a fic for that every now and again, even if I don't write them anymore.

I am still a big fan of Final Fantasy though (especially VIII - I just love Laguna to death.), and do some Kingdom Hearts as well - since the two are closely related I mix and match a bit there.

And, let's see. Ouran High School Host Club - though the fandom is seriously wanting. A shame, because it's a really adorable series. I haven't written for it yet, but will probably be doing so soon, planning one as a christmas gift for one of my non-LJ friends.

I occasionally dabble in Fruits Basket, Yami no Matsuei, Kyo Kara Maoh, Gravitation... There are a lot of series I enjoy reading for on occasion that I don't have any particular inclination to write.

I think my fanfic writing started with Gundam Wing, if I remember correctly, which I still hunt down a fic for every now and again. (because...Wufei...)

I haven't touched on Merlin (BBC) yet as far as fandom goes, but I've been thinking lately that I might check it out, because, really, there just isn't enough Gwaine in the universe, and I need more. (that's usually the first sign of me breaking into a new fandom. We'll see...)

I'm not active in many fandoms, but I do enjoy browsing a few different ones.

Other than Final Fantasy and Harry Potter I don't think I've written anything for any of the others in quite some time, though.

So The Avengers doesn't interest you? It does provide a rich canon-having both a Comic and a Norse Myth Canon. And I can imagine you writing great Avengers fic-especially with that host of supporting characters :)

I have no ideas about all these other fandoms-my entry ticket to HP fandom was Alan Rickman. Before that I didn't even know such a thing as fandom existed (like 2008 or 2009?) ... maybe I'll add other fandoms in the future. Only two (Alan Rickman and Tom Hiddleston) are a little lame.

I adore Gwaine from Merlin-I follow the actor's Twitter and blog and he has fun tweets-seems to be a smart guy with a cool sense of humour and varied interests.

Gwaine is gorgeous, too. :) (I'm kind of feeling a ship for Gwaine/Leon that could prove to be an obsession...)

As far as Avengers, not really. The movies are more than enough, and all that back story with the comics is intimidating, honestly. I never got into the avengers comics. I was actually never into any of these characters before the films - they were more my roomie's thing than mine, though I do love the movies (Iron Man in particular, but I blame that mostly on Robert Downey Jr. being effing awesome in everything he does). So, no I don't feel any need to slash any of these characters. I just don't have that level of interest.
I was never wildly into superhero comics. The comics I liked were much more obscure, though I do enjoy superhero movies as much as the next person. That's really as far as my interest goes. 'go watch movie. movie good. movie over. get dvd. watch occassionally.' It's not an obsession and I really doubt it ever will be.
I never rule out a possibility, but it's not at all likely. I enjoy it, but it's not even remotely an obsession. The roomie drags me out to see these films on opening night, not the other way around.

I'll have a look at Merlin-I have Season 1, 2, and 3 I think, but just watched some episodes, then I'll know who Leon is.

True, the whole canon thing can be overwhelming. I am trying to write a Barton/Loki fic, and I started writing it without looking at the canon. A weeks ago I looked into canon and thought, damn ...

*writer's block* :D

Still, it breaks my heart a little that you're not devoured by the Avengers obsession as I am. Then again-it's a good thing too! You can pull me out again, when I get into it too deep and am unable to talk about anything else :D

Leon is actually the first to make an appearance, but he was around long before I remember him getting a name. I want to say it may have been the end of season 2 when Arthur first called him by his name, but I could be wrong about that. He's Uther's right hand man early on. I remember theorizing at the beginning that he might be Gwaine, because he was always there, but never named, and he had the right build for Gwaine, as well as certain personality traits that were very Gwaine-ish. (Gwaine was always my favorite in the old Arthurian tales, even before Merlin), but then Gwaine made his first appearance and I was proven wrong. I'm not disappointed - Eoin Macken does an amazing job on the character. I remember the first time he showed up and started acting I thought 'this is amazing, he's playing Gwaine exactly as I've always imagined him! He's perfect!') Of course, he plays up his more goofy, kind of dumb side, but that just makes him more cute. I get my fangirl squeal on in my head every time I see him on screen. His being pretty really doesn't hurt, though I can't say I actually follow him inasmuch (but I do remember his name without looking it up, which is saying a lot.)
So, I'm happy with Leon being Leon in the end, even if my early theories were proved wrong. Now I have two sexy long-haired men to pair up in my head. lol.
I'm starting to think maybe I have a thing for long hair on guys - Gwaine, Leon, Thor, Snape, Bill...heck, it's Legolas that made me like Orlando Bloom! Then again, there are short haired characters I like...just not as many. :)

We actually don't own any of Merlin yet, but we watch it on syfy here, which runs it about a season behind what most of my overseas friends have seen. So when all my buddies here are gushing about Merlin, I won't see those episodes for several more months. I'm looking forward to the new (to me) season in January or February. In the meanwhile, Netflix has some of the older episodes on streaming if I need my Merlin fix.

Ack! I meant to just tell you who Leon is, but I ended up on another gush over Merlin. Sorry about that!

And yes, I will just have to keep distracting you from the Avengers by waving bottom Snape in your face! Or Snape's bottom, whichever. I'm pretty sure either way it would be distracting. :)

Hee! Some of the men on Merlin are pretty! I sometimes tend to randomly play episodes of tv shows but mute them, while playing my music collection over them-so often I have no clue about the series itself, the plot or even character names, but I do remember that I even found the older man-the king-who used to be Buffy's teacher-appealing in a way ....

And yes, I will just have to keep distracting you from the Avengers by waving bottom Snape in your face!

You know me too well, vixen ;P

lol! You really should watch the series properly, though. It's hilarious, and also incredibly gay. The actors apparently don't know they're in a gay series, but among fans, there's really no doubt in anyone's mind. :) Roomie and I joked early on about Morgana and Gwen being the 'token lesbian couple'.
And that'd be Anthony Stewart Head, who yes, does have a certain appeal for an older gent. He's actually the reason we started watching Merlin. "Ooh! Giles is in another show! We have to check it out!" That it was Arthurian-based only helped its case for me, and we've been hooked from episode 1, though we make do make 'what would Giles do' jokes every time Uther makes a bad decision (you know, every 3 1/2 seconds).

And of course I know how to distract you! You've provided me with a list, after all!

Haha, yes, I admit I do that with too many series: just have them run in the background with my music on loud.

I like Morgana-very fashionable chick, but not Gwen.

The whole Arthurian Saga is gay :P bromances and swords! :D

Lol! This is true. Morgana ends up seriously goth, though, and nuts. Gwen just has love triangle issues. :). I'll stick yo the bromances personally. They're so much sexier. Lol.

I didn't know what a fandom was until 2011:) The Avengers is only my second real fandom so far after pro wrestling. There are other movies and tv shows I really enjoy, but not to the point I feel like I belong to their fandom.

I think you're my first Non-HP friend then, hehe!

I kind of still remember that awe I felt, when I clicked on these links (I was googling "Severus Snape"-just out of curiosity, and then my world exploded :D)

Prowrestling is such an unusual fandom! (For me anyway!)

Oh, yeah:)

I know when I found the whole wrestling fandom I was very excited. My rl friends were like "what?". Of course they don't appreciate fandoms let alone wrestling.

Pro wrestling is a pretty unusual fandom and what makes it even worse is that my favorite pairings aren't even popular in that fandom. I have made some good friends with the few people who like those pairings too.
