Merry Christmas To Me!
I got gift!!! My Snupin Santa gift was posted yesterday!
The gifter decided to create ART for my Snupin Santa 2010 fic "The Strange And Curious Dreams Of Herrn Ulrich Vilsak", a historical AU, that was also an attempt in 19th century fantastic realism, and let me tell you it's perfect! I really think, the choice alone is a brave one! I don't think that coming up with images for this piece is easy! So the more kudos to the artist who not only tried, but succeeded with such brilliance!
It's gorgeous, dark and erotic! She drew Severus exactly the way I love him; pale, thin, almost gaunt and sinewy and lean. Even kneeling he is proud. Even in defeat he is strong, a quaility I think is ultimately very Severus! I love how he grips the bed sheets in the third panel, I can't stop looking at his arms!
And Remus! He is angry, bitter, not as gentile and soft, as I like to see him, would he have survived the war. I know fanon likes Remus nicer, and so do I, mostly, but then there's a Remus who studied Defense Against the Dark Arts, who was well-equipped enough to face and fight the Dark Arts, and whose expertise is regarded highly. And then of course, he is, in the end a Dark Creature himself, and all of that together is an aspect that I sometimes like to see in art/fic about Remus.
Another thing I absolutely adore is the sign of The Deathly Hallows in the background. Anyone who knows my icon, knows that I like this symbol, but I also used it as a leitmotif in my fic, and seeing that the artist used it too, as an unifying symbol for the art panels just warms my heart!
