In which I just focus on my breathing and let everything else work itself out.

Good news: My car was, in fact, exactly where I left it. The battery was dead, but with the help of the sheriff's deputy in front of whose house I was parked, my brother-in-law jumped it and off I went to work. There was another guy out and about too (he's from Wisconsin, so he was enjoying the show), and the three of them had a little guy party while they waited for my battery to respond to the charge. It was cute.

The roads are a disaster (highway excluded) and the sidewalks are worse. I'm pretty furious that they made us come in. The silver lining is that the parking garage is free today (probably because they couldn't get anyone to show up to work the cashier booth) and when I got to Starbucks my favorite barista comped me for having to show up in the first place. Aw. She's a sweet one.

Bad news: In the light of day, the damage to my car is far worse than previously surmised. There's a huge tear in the bumper and the casing around the right headlight is pushed way up. All the damage is, of course, on the same side as when I hit that deer a week after I bought it. Of course! Not that it matters. I'm going to have some trouble scraping together the $500 deductible, though. Life! It's a constant challenge.

All things considered, I think the good karma/bad karma sort of balances out. Annoying situation, could have been much, much worse. See how well I'm doing with this whole going with the flow thing? I think the Buddhists are on to something.

Now I just need to decide if it's safe to go out tonight, or if I should cancel my plans due to the fact that it's supposed to snow again. For once I have plans, and the weather conspires against me. Not on, Nature.

boring rl stuff, lol karma
