As you may already know, last night marked the first night of Hanukkah. Since some of my best girls celebrate, every year I try to track down a new Hanukkah song in their honor. I like to offer something for everyone on the advent calendar, you know. This year I was afraid I was going to fail in my quest, because let's face it, there is not a lot of Hanukkah music. But then. THEN. I checked out Neil Diamond's new Christmas album, because Neil rules, and what do you know, he came through for me! And lo, it is awesome. Neil Diamond covering Adam Sandler's The Chanukah Song? YES PLEASE.

The former is typical Neil lounge-y style, which, of course, is delightful. The latter features a full gospel choir, which sort of outshines Mr. Diamond in places, somehow rendering it an even more fantastic rendition of a traditional carol.
