Today's song: Do They Know It's Christmas (Feed the World). Yes, that's right! It's the Band-Aid song! Which, when you listen to it enough times, is really the single most fucking ridiculous Christmas song ever. Well, okay, maybe not as ridiculous as Please, Daddy (Don't Get Drunk This Christmas). But it's pretty close. And yet it's so heartfelt and earnest and it reminds me so much of high school, but not in the bad way that I usually think of high school. Awesome! Guess what? Last night on my way home from work I came up with an entirely new, canon-based Criminal Minds AU that I want to write even more than the elbow patch AU. I think it might sort of be a rip-off of one of my CSI AUs, but I can't decide if that's a bad thing. If I ever get around to writing it I suppose I'll worry about it then.
Guess what else. Also last night, while searching (fruitlessly) for a WAT AU I once started and then abandoned, I found 21 pages of a BWOC fic that I started and then abandoned. I wrote four chapters and then just stopped, apparently? And I have no recollection of it whatsoever. It was kind of weird. God, I hope I never posted that anywhere. It sort of sucked.
Hey, did I mention that I finished and uploaded my Yuletide fic? The second I uploaded it I realized what I could have done to fix its problems without having to write like 6,000 more words. But you know, it's due on Saturday, and I would have performance anxiety about it no matter how much I wrote, so it's probably just as well if I don't mess with it anymore.
Hey ruggerdavey: I have to admit, The Rock is kind of awesome. (I'm sort of glad they decided to remake that one. The original movies never made much sense to me as a kid. Or maybe I was just a stupid kid.)
My throat is very tickly today and I am sort of stuffed up again. That is not cool with me. Though it is probably karmic payback for torturing my favorite coworker yesterday by singing Afternoon Delight to her.
