advent calendar and incoherent CSI squee

Today's song is The Christmas Waltz, which is a traditional Christmas song that I quite enjoy. Two versions; Kristin Chenoweth's, because I just cannot resist her, and Tony Bennett's, since he has released a new Christmas cd after fourteen years. Crazy! But it's a good album, and Tony still sounds exactly the way you remember.

I did not write anything at all yesterday. I think I psyched myself out through a combination of thinking too hard and leaving my usb drive at home. I did make a list of all the fics I need to write, though, and there are four Criminal Minds fics and four CSI fics. What the hell? That is crazy talk, especially for someone who isn't actually doing any writing. Oh, well. At least I got some actual work done at work; that's something.

Speaking of which, the library has been Cah-RAAAAZY lately. The cold weather brings in all the weirdos who normally hang around in less public places. Then they get up to no good in the bathroom, and now we have video cameras in there. Good times! I would tell you the stories that led up to this development, but you don't even want to know. Trust me, you don't. Suffice it to say that there are a lot of mentally ill people wandering the streets of Knoxville, and they all end up at the library eventually.

Anyway! The case: Boring! In spite of the elderly guest stars. So let's talk about my boys instead. They got to be alone in a hotel, though not a hotel room, and Greg got to thrill Nick with his vast knowledge of Sin City's heyday. He's so adorkable. And I bet he puts that hotel in his next book, because he's a total geek that way.

And of course we all know about Greg's glitter fetish from that episode where he tried on the showgirl's headdress. The things Nick must put up with! I imagine it's worth it.

And that little look that passed between them when Nick mentioned Warrick...aw. His boyfriend understands. They don't talk about it much, because Nick's not that into feelings and stuff, but they don't have to. They are an old married couple now and they understand each other. It's sweet. Seriously, you guys, every time I watch them together now I just want to write boring PG fic where they hang out and, like, wash the dishes. They fill me with fluff and happiness and I love them. It does not make for the most exciting fic ever, but I don't even care. I just want them to be happy forever and draw hearts around them and and and...♥

I am filled with love from a scene that wasn't even really anything, and an episode that wasn't that good, all because Nick said Greg's name. No lie, that is what did it for me. My standards have fallen so far.
