Happy Halloween!

I came home from work early with cramps. I did contemplate going to a party tonight, but there was just too much pain. However! The pain has finally subsided, and now I'm just chilling with a Canadian and some homemade nachos (so not on my diet) and waiting for the Trick-or-Treaters to arrive. So let's play a Halloween game, which I lifted from oh_mumbleRead more... )

Well then have some more! This is a continuation of Liz's ficlet; I hope that is okay with both of you :)

By the time Marcus got home his makeup was smeared, his fake vampire teeth had disappeared, and he was exhausted. He hated having to dress up for Halloween, but even worse was having to stay late for a mandatory party.

Like he didn't get enough of those people during the forty hours a week he got paid to spend with them.

Besides, Harlan's promise had been nagging at him all day, an image of that neck flashing in his mind when he least expected it. Which led to images of other, more dangerous parts of Harlan, and by the time Marcus finally managed to sneak out of the party he was ready to scream.

He let out a sigh as he let himself into the apartment, closing the door behind him and just standing there for a minute, drinking in the silence. He reached up to untie his cape as he madde his way down the hall, stopping in the door to the living room and letting the cape hit the floor.

Harlan was stretched out on the couch, shoes still on and a beer open on the coffee table. His tie was hanging loose and open and Marcus could just glimpse the pale skin just under his collar. And he looked so peaceful that Marcus sort of hated to wake him, but he'd been waiting too long for this moment to pass it up now.

He crossed the room and sank as carefully as he could onto the edge of the couch, reaching out to pull Harlan's tie away from his neck before he leaned in and licked a stripe along the exposed skin of Harlan's collarbone.

A hand came up to grip his bicep, just hard enough to let Marcus know Harlan wasn't quite as asleep as he'd looked. Harlan's thumb moved up and down his bicep, his other hand reaching up to grip the back of Marcus' neck.

"Your lipstick's all smudged, Ratner," Harlan said, his drowsy grin making him look so young for a second that Marcus' heart actually skipped a beat. "You been making out with Frankenstein?"

"The Wolf Man," Marcus said, grinning at the look of mock jealousy on Harlan's face. "But I was thinking about you the whole time."

"Oh yeah?" Harlan shifted to let Marcus slide a little further onto the couch, the hand on his bicep sliding down to rest against Marcus' waist. "Maybe you shouldn't be going to any more parties without me."

"Why, you think I need protecting?" Marcus asked, and he knew he should probably be a little insulted, but he kind of liked the idea of Harlan being jealous.

"Depends." Harlan leaned in for a quick kiss that stretched out until Marcus was breathing hard, cheeks flushed and suddenly way too warm in what was left of his costume. "What happened to your teeth?"

"No idea," Marcus said, gaze fixed on Harlan's mouth.

"Wild party. I'm definitely crashing the next one," Harlan said as Marcus leaned in to kiss him again.

"Good."
