Fic: Faceplant (Eureka, Vincent/Fargo, PG)

Dec 05, 2006 20:13

Okay. So here's kind of a crazy thing: I wrote some fic.

The paper is half-finished, see, but I'm kind of stuck and I needed a break, and since I had this idea running around in my head I figured what the hell, I'll jot it down. It's all girlnorth's fault, really. Back when I asked for first kisses ideas, she mentioned Eureka, which I sometimes watch ( Read more... )

Hee. Okay, I've never watched Eureka, but I couldn't pass up Caroline fic -- that was adorable. Especially liked the 'you wanna wait until I'm not drunk" part and then the snoring. :-)

Thanks for taking pity on my lonely fic : ) I'm glad you enjoyed it, I guess it doesn't really require any canon knowledge. How can it? I don't have much canon knowledge and I *wrote* it. It's a cute show, not my favorite ever but I like it. It's just a shame the fandom is so small and the major slash pairing in the fandom is one that doesn't appeal to me at all. But that's pretty much the story of my fannish life, isn't it?

Personally, I like being in the tiny non-mainstream group. And I really enjoyed the fic, even though I had no clue who the characters were. :-) It was fun to get a Caroline fic fix with something new.

Tiny and non-mainstream is the place to be, of course. It's always far more interesting, and the company's better : )

I may be the only one who actually knows who these characters are! I feel like I am in the "inside" group! Wow, I just reread that, and I really am disturbing...even to me. All that aside, it was good. What I most like about your fic is your ability to tell the story in the voice of the characters. Does that make sense? I see the person speaking, the accent, inflection...all there. I don't know how you nail that, but you do. You are the best at it, in my lowly opinion. Don't stop.

Honestly, it's not that interesting in my 'inside' group, but you are certainly welcome in it any time : ) You're one of very few who know who these characters are, and I thank you very much for reading. I didn't think this one would get much play, but I'm grateful that it sounded like the characters, and for your very nice compliment. I just try to hear the characters telling me the story and then write it down the way they say it; it's nice when it works out.

Squeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

I ♥ you! That was so cute, and sweet, and perfect. Drunk Fargo is very funny, and Vincent begrudgingly taking care of him was just... so right. I loved it! Thank you. ::hugs::

Aw, I'm really glad you liked it. I was pretty worried, I confess. I went looking for other Vincent/Fargo fic, but all I found in the tiny slash comm was lots of Carter/Stark. Ah well, I am used to being in the minority, pairing-wise : )

This was pretty fun to write, and I have you to thank for the inspiration, so thanks.

I've never seen the show but I have a good picture of this Vincent character in my head now. He's grumpily tossing and turning on the couch but his curiosity is piqued and for some reason I think that makes him happy. But he may not admit it. Hmm. Where is this show?

You can find the show on Sci-Fi, though it's currently on hiatus so they're showing reruns. It's pretty cute, though I haven't seen all the episodes so I was nervous. Thanks for reading even without fandom knowledge, and I'm glad you enjoyed : )

I couldn't find it yet, but that just means that it isn't on today or tomorrow, I'll keep checking- I'm really curious now!

When I read without fandom knowledge it's like reading original fic and it's so easy to read what you write. :)

I think they show it on the weekends, but I usually just catch it whenever, so what do I know. It's kind of bizarre; the concept is that Eureka is this crazy secret town run by the government to keep all the best scientists there doing research to 'make the world a better place'. Naturally every week there's a new, wacky science mishap.

When I read without fandom knowledge it's like reading original fic and it's so easy to read what you write. :)

Thank you : )
