Author's note: It's International Woobie Porn Day. What, you didn't get the memo? This is for
nekosmuse, because I promised. Only I'm kind of in a hurry, so it's not proofread. One day I'm going to get all the woobie fic up on my web site, and then I will give it all a good going over. Honest.
He wasn't sure whose idea it was to have a movie night. Not that it was a bad idea, because practically everyone in camp was crammed together in front of the tent that would serve as the movie screen, talking over each other until the voices blended together into one excited murmur. J.D. wasn't sure what movie they'd managed to get their hands on - some family picture, he was sure, because there were enough kids in the place to stop them from showing anything good. But it was the only entertainment they'd gotten since they got to the camp, so he'd showed up along with everybody else.
Sam and Laura were huddled together on a blanket near the front, Sam's parents sitting next to them and the four of them grinning like this was the most fun they'd ever had. He'd expected Brian to drag him up there to sit with them, but instead they were still standing toward the back of the crowd, arms pressed together and J.D. glanced down to find Brian frowning at the crowd.
"Seems like a waste of generator fuel," he muttered, half to himself but J.D. laughed anyway and closed a hand around Brian's arm.
"Come on."
He didn't have a plan when he dragged Brian away from the crowd; all he knew was that Brian didn't seem to feel like sitting through some dumb movie just because there was nothing else to do, and if he didn't want to be there J.D. didn't either. They'd done pretty much everything together since New York - at first they were just sort of stuck with each other, but it didn't take long for J.D. to realize he liked having Brian around.
It didn't take long after that for their relationship to progress from sharing body heat to furtive touches, the occasional stolen kiss under the blankets when everyone else was asleep. And it hadn't gone further than that, mostly because privacy was practically nonexistent in a refugee camp, but that didn't mean J.D. hadn't been thinking about it. He was pretty sure Brian thought about it too, at least if the looks J.D. caught Brian giving him every so often meant anything.
"Where are we going?" Brian asked, hurrying to keep up with J.D.'s longer stride as they crossed the camp back toward the living area. He'd been headed back to their tent, but there were a few people hanging around in there who'd decided not to go watch the movie with everyone else, and J.D. really wanted to find someplace they could be alone for a little while. Just to see what it was like, really, because so far their entire relationship had happened in front of other people.
They were almost to their own tent when he spotted it, stopping short and turning to glance at Brian before he changed directions. "In here."
"In…we can't," Brian began, trailing off when J.D. ducked inside the tent. For a second J.D. thought Brian might not follow him, but then the tent flap opened and the other boy slipped inside. "We shouldn't be in here."
"Why not?" J.D. asked, blinking in the dim light until his eyes adjusted. When they did he spotted the electric torch in the corner of the room, flipping it on and flooding the tent in a soft yellow light.
"Because this is Sam's family's tent. It's private."
"Doesn't that seem kind of weird to you?" J.D. asked. It had always seemed a little unfair to him, because Jack and his family weren't any different from the rest of them, but they had their own private sleeping area and all kinds of special privileges. And he knew why, but it still didn't really seem fair. "Besides, they're watching the movie. What do they care if we just hang out for awhile? It's not like we've never been in here before."
"Yes, but this is different," Brian said, but he let J.D. pull him down onto one of the air mattresses, shoulders pressed together and when J.D. slid a little closer he didn't move away.
"Why?"
"Because Sam's usually in here with us."
J.D. couldn't help laughing, because that was the whole point. Obviously Brian didn't get it, though, because he was frowning again and any second now he was going to stand up and walk out. And all J.D. really wanted was a little time alone, but it seemed stupid to waste a perfect opportunity, so instead of answering he leaned in and distracted Brian the best way he knew how.
For a second he thought Brian might put up a fight, pull away and argue all the reasons they shouldn't be doing this here. And he'd be right, but that didn't mean J.D. wanted to stop. Only Brian wasn't pulling away, and when he shifted a little on the mattress and rested a hand on J.D.'s shoulder it was obvious he wasn't going to.
The angle was a little awkward, like back when they were still stuck in the library, pressed together on that old couch and trying not to make any noise so they wouldn't wake anyone. But they didn't have to worry about that anymore - not here, at least, so J.D. shifted until he was facing Brian, one hand on his neck to tilt his head just a little. And this was better, better than those few stolen kisses in the library, and better than sitting next to Brian at every meal and wishing they weren't constantly surrounded by people.
"We really shouldn't be doing this," Brian said when J.D. pulled away, but he let J.D. push his coat down off his shoulders, down his arms to hit the floor next to them.
"Relax," J.D. answered, pausing long enough to get his own coat off before he turned back to Brian. "They won't be back for at least a couple hours."
It was true, because there would probably be speeches before the movie about how they were all supposed to stick together and help keep each other's spirits up, but it still felt a little bit like fooling around in his parents' bedroom. And he'd done that before, but he had a feeling Brian hadn't, so he could understand why the other boy was nervous. Distraction had worked once already, though, so he leaned in again, mouth against Brian's jaw to work his way along the other boy's skin.
So far all they'd done was a little making out, and there hadn't even been much of that, so he wasn't surprised when Brian let out a soft gasp and gripped J.D.'s shoulder hard. He could tell Brian was trying hard not to lean into the sensation, but the whole point was to get him to let go, so J.D. shifted a little closer, mouth closing over Brian's as he pushed the other boy backwards onto the air mattress.
He wasn't sure whose bed they'd landed on. They'd only been in the tent a few times, long enough for Sam to grab something or tell his parents where he'd be before they were off again. But J.D. didn't really care whose blankets they were messing up, because it was warm and quiet and he had Brian all to himself, and that was all that mattered.
Brian's hair was getting longer, curling around his ears and J.D. slid his hand through it, memorizing the coarse texture as he settled next to the other boy. He let his hand trail down the back of Brian's skull, past his neck and down his shoulder to land on his chest. He was wearing one of the shirts the government had given them, a thick flannel thing that was a little too big for him and made him look even younger than he was. The fabric was soft against J.D.'s fingers, Brian's chest rising and falling under his hand and when he looked up Brian was watching him expectantly.
He was trying not to show it, but J.D. could see the fear in his eyes and he couldn't help smiling. It wasn't like he didn't know Brian had never done this before, but he wasn't telling J.D. to stop or making up excuses to get away before anything happened, so J.D. slid his hand a little higher, pushing open the top button of Brian's shirt.
By the time he had the last button undone Brian was trembling a little, his chest still covered in a thin t-shirt and J.D. wondered if he was going to chicken out. But he didn't say anything when J.D. pushed the flannel off his shoulders, he just sat up far enough to pull it off before he let J.D. push him back down. And J.D. wanted the t-shirt off too, but he'd always believed that fair was fair, so he sat up and pulled his sweater and then his own t-shirt off.
The air was chilly against his skin, but Brian was warm and when J.D. leaned in for another kiss he felt a hand land tentatively on his chest, sliding over his skin to rest against his waist. His own hand rested against Brian's stomach, pushing slowly up under his shirt until J.D. found warm skin. He felt another tremble roll through Brian's body, vibrating against his fingers and he swallowed his own shudder and pushed Brian's shirt a little higher.
When it was up around his chest J.D. stopped, breaking the kiss long enough to look down. Brian's skin was dark against his, tinged with pink and even in the low light J.D. could tell he was blushing. It was…cute, but it was kind of hot too, and when he pushed at Brian's shirt again the other boy sat up far enough to let J.D. tug it over his head.
He felt like he should say something, but he wasn't sure what so instead he leaned forward again, pressing a soft kiss to the corner of Brian's mouth. Instantly Brian turned into the kiss, lips parted on a sigh and that was all the encouragement J.D. needed. He pushed his tongue past Brian's teeth, urging his mouth open to taste the ever-present desert dust and Brian. His hand slid down Brian's chest, tracing each rib that J.D. had a feeling stuck out just a little more than it did before all this started.
When he reached Brian's stomach he paused, fingers trembling a little because he'd done this before, but he'd never done it with Brian. There was a part of him that felt like he should be asking permission, but another part of him worried that if he gave Brian time to think about it he'd change his mind. Besides, it was hard to talk when Brian was kissing him back like his life depended on it, and the last thing J.D. wanted to do was surrender that mouth.
They were still stretched out more or less side by side, legs tangled together and J.D. wasn't sure when that happened, but when Brian shifted against him and let out a muffled moan J.D. stopped wondering. He stopped thinking at all, hand leaving Brian's stomach to slide lower, over his pants to trace his cock through the thick material. That got him another moan and a convulsive thrust of Brian's hips, and it was all J.D. could do not to laugh as he pushed Brian onto his back.
Brian was trembling even harder now, skin hot under J.D.'s fingers and it took him a few tries before he got the other boy's zipper down. He leaned forward as he slid a hand inside, catching Brian's mouth against his own as his fingers closed around the other boy's cock. And Brian was still trembling, but he was rocking up into J.D.'s grip and kissing him back with a desperation that J.D. had never felt before. He ached with the need for release, but he ignored it and focused on matching the steady thrusts of Brian's hips.
It hardly took any time at all before Brian was tensing under him, pushing up into J.D.'s fist one last time and coming. His mouth was still pressed against J.D.'s, not kissing anymore so much as breathing against him, and J.D. let go of Brian's cock to slide his hands through the mess on his stomach. As soon as he did Brian made a strangled noise low in his throat and pulled J.D. close again, one leg pushing between J.D.'s and before he knew it he was thrusting insistently against Brian's thigh.
He was going to come in his pants, but he didn't care because Brian was kissing him again and his skin was slick and sliding against J.D.'s. His hands moved arrhythmically on J.D's back, clenching hard at his skin and a few seconds later J.D. tensed and moaned his orgasm against Brian's mouth.
It took him a few minutes to catch his breath, then a few more before he forced his eyes open to look down at the mess drying on Brian's stomach. He summoned enough energy to reach for his t-shirt, wiping Brian's skin and his own hand off as best he could before he tossed the shirt back on the floor. And he was going to have to throw it away, but he didn't even care because Brian was watching him with a sort of awed expression that made J.D. wish they'd done this a lot sooner.
And he wished they could stay right here, wrapped around each other in the blankets where it was warm and a lot softer than the cots they were sleeping on. He wished they were back in his father's penthouse where there were six bedrooms with six big beds. Sometimes he even wished they were back on that couch in the library, only in his imagination they weren't surrounded by all those other people.
He wished a lot of things that would never come true, but Brian was pulling him down for another kiss, and he could live without the rest of it.
